Cut of the week #3 by @privat. Time to show our producers some love! (Still some rap inside..)

Todays features: @seveaux, @scuzzy and @fresheiremusic

Welcome to the third magic number of “Cut of the week”, where I share my perspective on what’s been going down in #thecut last week and usually feature three artists! The cut is the unofficial hip hop community on Steemit. If you’ve got new original hip hop art that you want to share you might want to tag it with #thecut for easier recognition. As a rapper I’ve automatically focused mostly on other rappers in the last two episodes. I’ll still give you a favorite rap from this week but after that I want to focus on featuring three dope producers on Steemit! 

If you have other users that you think should have made the list just post them as a comment and I’ll upvote that for visibility and possibly feature them soon! I would like to include at least something from every hip hop element to this newsletter eventually, so hook me up if you scout some other talents out there. I’ll mention @benja later as an mc who does some graffiti as well but I would love to see more of that.

Rap of the week:

Last week I began this segment with “Cold Sheets” by @jamesgetsit. To be fair he could just as well have taken this weeks top place too in my opinion. The quality he keeps delivering is ridiculous and I really hope he’ll end up on top of everything soon. Not saying there’s no competition though!

For this week I want to remind you of @scribblingwilly. The dopest mc from Ireland that I wrote about last week. He’s been grinding harder than ever releasing something new almost everyday for us. I’ve chosen this song “Guiness” that he released today with @fresheiremusic. I just love how his simple hook cuts of the intense flow in the crazy verses on this. Just listen for yourself:

1. @seveaux

This really dope dutch producer has helped me out loads on discord. He and another great producer @djlethalskillz are two of the moderators for the great SMA channel! I’ll feature him later but you can always check out @djlethalskillz blog today to see all the inspiring projects he's got going on.

The Steem Music Alliance (SMA) is the biggest channel I’ve seen on discord for Steem musicians to get an extra layer of discussions. Perfect for finding other artists to work with or just hang around the discussion threads. A couple other future mentions from the SMA crew is @chiefmappster and @beatseb but I’m saving some people for later.. Here’s an invite link to this game changing discord channel:

@seveaux has got a wide repertoire when it comes to producing music and is one of the hungriest on Steemit. Just today as I mentioned that I’d feature him he answered “no probs … now let me make a beat that fits you today” haha so I’ve got that to look forward to!

• “Seveaux Feat. Benja - Flow delicious [Prod. Seveaux][Voice by Benja] - Beatbattle season #2 entry” - WOW I’m so happy that I get to start out with this post. This is what Steemit should be about and it’s definitely what SMA is all about! @seveaux getting together with another dutch Steemian @benja for this amazing collaboration. @benja is not only a dope mc but also a graffer who draws amazingly good. I have yet to find more hip hop visual artists on here but he deserves his own feature soon with or without the drawings. The beat on this is crazy and @benja rides it like a pro!
  
  
• “Ultimate lesson one for noobs about audio recording! All 'what you need' to have” - This is what we need. Someone who sees a problem and instantly tries to fix it. I heard @seveaux talking about how sad it is that many of our recording are of such low quality, purely technically, and soon after I see this great guide. Simple tips that could go along way!
  
  
• “Steemit Record Pool - Please don't let me be misunderstood” - Steemit record pool is a project by @djlethalskillz as well so he’s getting some more room here already. These posts are not in #thecut since it’s not related to any of OUR original hip hop but it's a cool music curation competition when done right. I think @seveaux shows how it should look with this post, giving some reasoning and facts behind his pick.

2. @scuzzy

Someone I haven’t personally been interacting with a lot, so far. But I still want him on this weeks list since he’s been doing some really cool stuff! Multi talented but I'll focus on his beats and picked these posts:

• “Listen to: "Gutbucket Radio" Live Hosted by Scuzzy Ruckus || Steemit Music Alliance on Discord” - He’s obviously not live 24/7 but the SMA’s got a few going live radio stations and this post describes it all better than I could here. @scuzzy want’s to share his rare sample library with us! This almost makes me want to start making more beats instead of rapping, gold rush!
  
  
• “♫ Scuzzy Ruckus - Chopblock 3: An Instrumental Series (2018) [NEW RELEASE | LISTEN HERE]” - First of all this post showcases a really dope instrumental but secondly it’s such a good example of giving content with and around our art. This post basically makes you forget what you came for starting with an in depth analysis of @scuzzy’s names throughout the years and what life changes made him change. Get to know him!
  
  
• “♫ Scuzzy Ruckus - The Spirit Molecule | Steemit Music League Challenge S02R01” - Dope entry for @chiefmappsters sml challenge. Last chance to curate this amazing post. Starting with an in depth explanation on the effects of DMT and then @scuzzy showcases his supercool progressive beat.

3. @fresheiremusic

Fresh for Steemit this week, @fresheiremusic started posting beats for us only three days ago. Here’s the ‘introduce yourself’ post. But I recognised the name since he’s been here behind a lot of @scribblingwilly’s raps producing and mixing. Already got a lot of content up on the blog but I’ve selected some favorites for you!

• “TermiteMusic Rap Challenge Entry Week 18” - @fresheire is not 'just a producer'. Today he decided to join @termitemusic’s worldwide cypher proving that he know how to rap as well!
  
  
• “Fresh Eire - Unleashed EP” - Full EP containing four track with @scribblingwilly on the mic! Irish comedy rap to hard beats. It’s definitely different and I love it!
  
  
• “SpitFire Rap Challenge - Week #1 SBD Prizes for First Three Places” - Second day here and he’s already started his own rap contest with original beats! Something I’ve only seen from @termitemusic before. Not sure if I’ll find to enter this week but you should definitely give it some thought if you’re a rapper!

That’s it for this week! Or what the hell I’ll leave you with an easter egg as well! This post by @jtulip, flew completely under the cut radar. He came over to my place and recorded a full song in Swedish over @termitemusic’s beat ‘one be’. In my opinion this should have been at least one of the winners for last week's producer challenge but it didn’t make it. Here’s the post including a video we made for it the same night, enjoy some Swedish rap!
