Waterproofing work completed!
Hey my lovely Steemians!
Welcome to @progressivechef's daily post! It's been ages since I last made a post other than food or food based! Many of you will find this weird, but today I really want to share with you the waterproofing work that I had to make on the roof of my house as I was getting a big problem of leakage in some rooms!
Even my bedroom roof was leaking and during rainy days it was just a mess! The water accumulated kept on leaking for days and on the same time dirtying the roof paint! After checking with some companies doing waterproofing work, I finally chose one and they started the work a week back! The work was completed yesterday.
Now I just work it really works!!!
I had tiles on the roof and the company advised that they can do the waterproofing directly on the tiles, no need to take them out!
They applied polyprimer after washing and drying the roof!
After applying this polyprimer, they left it to dry for one day! It was a sticky stuff!
This is the polyglass which is glued on the tiles!
As the roof is quite big, we needed a lot of these polyglass to cover all the areas!
This is the texture of the polyglass, a rough texture like crushed stones!
The outer surface of the polyglass is heated at a high temperature for it to stick to the roof!
This is the torch that was used to heat the polyglass! It was really very hot!
One of the men at work! It was really very nice watching these experts at work! I got to learn some tricks with them about waterproofing!
One of the most important thing is to do the sides and corners of the roof perfectly to avoid water to enter!
This is the finished work! All the roof area is cover with this now!
I really hope that the waterproofing does it's magic!
With summer coming soon, there is always risk of cyclones coming and bringing a lot of rain! With this waterproofing work done, this will help a lot!
Have you ever had leakage problem at your place?
Which system of waterproofing did you use?

I have not heard about this polyglass so far.... Very interesting.... Hope you will be safe in this rainy season.. :)
I was not aware of it too sister! But I really had to do this waterproofing as the house was getting wet and dirty during rain!
I really hope it works now!
Actually Mouritius is a small Island no?
But it is really great that modern technology has been introduced there already... And people get top quality repairs.
Your command over English is also very good. I like the way you describe and narrate things. Even the quality of education is good I think... It's really great.:)
Mauritius is a very small island and the population is only 1.3 million! But we are quite modern my friend and we are independent since 1968!
I can say that the education level in really high here and the gov is doing a great job in pushing everyone to have a good education. We are actually over 93% of the population who can either write or read English/French!
@knarly327 and I are wondering if we can immigrate to Mauritius. It sounds like a beautiful paradise. Your roof looks fantastic with the waterproofing done. :)
This will be a great thing to do my friend, or if you wish you can escape the harsh winter of Canada and enjoy the lovely 6 months of summer here!
And you don't need visa to come over here! Especially people from Canada!
Just keep me informed, I will gladly help you out!
good to see some is working , i been thinking im the only one , follow you
Can't understand what you wanna say, but anyway thanks for stopping by!

Oh really my friend? That's great to hear. If you are saying it is good job done, then I am really assured man!
Thank you so much! really appreciate your comment!
Nice job! You are really handy!
Thanks so much @stacee! Oh yes when we are facing problems, we definitely have to learn and put our hands in it to solve the problems!
Glad that you stopped by!
Thanks for sharing @progressivechef . Hopefully that will fix any leak problems for 30+ years.
Oh 30+ years that would be just great, but I don't think it will last so much though!
Hi friend,
Oh my goodness! What a project! You did a great job! I don't think I could have done that!
I hope you have a great day!
This project was really very well needed my friend! I did not do it alone though, i just helped the others doing it. But great to learn of how to do it! Now I can do it alone for sure!
I hope it works! Leaks are the worst.. Never knew they solved it like this though!
My house has been leaking for months now, really a mess my friend! I also learned for the first time that waterproofing is done like that, it seemed to have worked in many other places.
Damn, how did you even live through that. I am imagining all buckets in your house, haha.
Hahahahahah! Oh no my friend, it was not like that the leakage! You made me die of laugh!
Hahahahahaa, it reminded me of that! And I hope it wasn't like that, that would've been awful :')
Fascinating documentary of the process, my friend. May you stay dry and comfortable and may you avoid all the cyclones of life!
Hey my friend! Hope all fine for your sir! Oh yes, i followed the process closely with the guys, i even tried doing some areas too!
I really hope no cyclone for this coming season mate, i've witnessed very powerful ones in the past!
Glad you made it through the last ones and are prepared for the next ones. Stay safe, my brother!
