God’s Peace is Your Protection
Good morning steemits.
Life isn't just about material things of the world, there are more......
There’s the world’s peace and there’s the peace that Jesus gives. John 14:27 says: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” To the world, peace is determined by circumstances. When things are going well—there’s peace. When it’s the opposite—there’s no peace. Yet, for the believer in Christ, peace is constant—peace is in Christ. Like Pastor Laju Iren said, “Peace isn’t just the absence of problems, it's calm in the face of problems.”
John 16:33 says: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Observe those words by Jesus, “…in me you might have peace…” The world doesn’t have much to offer regarding peace; the world offers tribulation, but be of good cheer because Christ has overcome the world.
You can always be at peace in Christ. When you stay your mind on Jesus; His Word, you will always be in perfect peace. Everything may seem to be going against you, but you can be at peace, you can be of good cheer. Why? Christ has overcome, hence, you always win! The Prince of Peace is in you; you can never be defeated. Trust Him, not things. Trust His Word, not the world’s news. Trust His Spirit, not the circumstances. Remain joyful, laugh!
Yes, there may be circumstances that would want to ‘steal’ your peace—cause you to be anxious, but as Philippians 4:6 says you are to be anxious for nothing. Let’s see verse 7 in the Amplified Bible, Classic Edition: “And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. When you aren’t anxious, God’s peace shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds.” The word ‘garrison’ is a military term for a set of troops stationed in a location to guard it from enemy attack. The peace of God is like a garrison of soldiers mounting guard over your hearts and minds. That means, there may be seeming war all over, but the peace of God keeps you safe from the enemy’s attack.
Dear believer, hold your peace. Trust God to ‘fight’ for you. He's your best defense.
Blessed, are you. God loves you. Yes, you!
