Work in the forest. January 8 2021

Na "robocie w lesie" ostatni raz byłem chyba z 5 lat temu.

Wtedy miałem przyjemność (o ile można tak ciężką pracę nazwać przyjemnością) pomagać mojemu kumplowi z pracy.
Przez kilka dni ścinaliśmy, i ściągaliśmy ręcznie drzewa na dół z lasu. Dzięki mojemu zaangażowaniu w pomoc, mogłem odkupić cześć ściętego drewna w dobrej cenie. Miałem wtedy "za pół darmo" drewno na cały sezon grzewczy.

The last time I was at the "job in the forest" was 5 years ago.

Back then, I had the pleasure (if you can call such hard work a pleasure) to help my work buddy.
For a few days we felled and pulled trees down from the forest by hand. Thanks to my commitment to help, I was able to buy back some of the cut wood at a good price. Back then I had "half free" wood for the entire heating season.

Tym razem po prostu poszedłem pomóc innemu koledze przy uporządkowywaniu lasu, po wycince drewna na budowę domu (a konkretnie dachu).

This time I just went to help another friend in order to clean up the forest, after cutting down the wood for the construction of his house (specifically the roof).

Samo ociosywanie gałęzi zostanie na wiosnę, a dziś chcieliśmy ściągnąć kilka konkretniejszych kawałków, które nie nadawały się na budowę, ale świetnie sprawdzą się jako opał.

The chipping of the branches itself will remain in the spring, and today we wanted to download a few more specific pieces, which were not suitable for construction, but would be great as fuel.

Są to same szczyty drzew, które trzeba było ociosać w gałęzi, pociąć na kawałki nadające się do transportu, i ściągnąć na dół.

These are the very tops of trees that had to be stripped off, cut into pieces for transport, and dragged down the forest.

Dwie godziny pracy w mega ciężkich warunkach (nachylenie stoku, śnieg, gałęzie, śliskie kamienie pod spodem, i ja balansujący między tym wszystkim z piłą motorową) dały mi dużo zmęczenia i satysfakcji zarazem.

Zapach świeżo ściętego drzewa, zapach spalin i ryk piły motorowej to wrażenia które bardzo lubię.

Wysiłek włożony w tą pracę zastąpił mi z nawiązką jakikolwiek trening.

Two hours of work in extremely difficult conditions (slope, snow, branches, slippery stones underneath, and me balancing between all this with a chainsaw) gave me a lot of fatigue and satisfaction at the same time.

The smell of freshly cut wood, the smell of exhaust fumes and the roar of a saw are impressions that I really like.

The effort put into this work replaced my more than any training.
