Enjoying #treetuesday with a lot of sun
Hosted by @old-guy-photos we can enjoy #treetuesday again
I couldn't find @old-guy-photos' #treetuesday post yet but be sure to check by yourself. They are always nice to read.
When walking @dog-marley we find nice pieces of nature - especially during spring when nature is awakening again.
At first sight, you might think this tree is still in hibernation.
But when you walk a little bit closer you will find some green coming up
Some buds are opening already
Some steps further we found this one
There was something where I can't tell if it's fungus - perhaps you know
Zooming in it looks like this
Well, perhaps I'll never know...
My Tree Tuesday was a bit late getting up! We are at the same stage in tree greenery as you are!
I always love your #treetuesday posts!
Just writing the next on already :)

Hi @pundito
You're close with your guess that a kind of fungus is growing on the branches.
It is a lichen, a combination of fungus and algae.
There is no need to worry about the trees it is not a parasite.
The fungus absorbs water from its environment and the algae takes over the photosynthesis.
Lichens are an impressive fusion of different organisms which, by the way, are among the most long-lived creatures on our planet, they can live for several thousand years.
