But Why?

in #coupons7 years ago

I have truly been driving myself nuts, trying to rationalize and understand the excitement and logic behind this one freaking phrase, that people keep feeling the need to share with me…here we go:

“Oh you coupon too? So does my friend/family member! She’s so good at using coupons that she can get a bunch of stuff for FREE! She sells me a bag full of stuff for $20.00!”

I wish you all could see and here the excitement…all I continue to ask is…BUT WHY?

Unless I’m looking at this all wrong…these are the things I keep coming up with:

You have a family member/friend that is great at couponing. (But they haven’t taught you)
That same individual has told you they use coupons to purchase items for FREE! (But they haven’t taught you how to do that either)
That same individual that you’re so giddy about is re-selling the FREE items to you for $20.00! (You don’t have a problem giving $20.00 to that individual knowing they got them for FREE and YOU could do the same thing)
I’m so confused…I know I can’t be the only one. Why wouldn’t you want to keep $20.00 in cold hard cash in your pocket and just learn how to do what your family member/friend is doing? I know, I know everybody is different…but if one of my friends calls me up talking about “Girl, you should see all the stuff I got for FREE when I went shopping today! I can hook you up for $20.00” Umm no ma’am! You ain’t hooking me up with a gosh darn thing…as a friend…you’d rather take $20.00 from me versus teaching me how to do it myself…No thanks! I’ll pass! I do NOT see how that’s a good deal…Y’all help me understand this…PLEASE!!!

Remember to be kind to cashiers and have fun using coupons!
