Hello great steemians!! I trust everyone is having a swell time and splendid day?. This day being the 28th of December 2021 on my blog. I bring to you all the outstanding binding principles and code of conduct that guides our posting and content development on this great platform. The verification and citation of my previous posts, has spurred me to create achievement 3 which explains in details the whole value of steemit content etiquette.

INTRODUCTION

The value of content cannot be overemphasized as it the convey of understanding of anything or an objective.

CONTENT ETIQUETTE

Content is the information and experience directed at an end-user or audience in communication, publishing, writing and arts.
Etiquette is a code of polite conduct constant practice of etiquette, helps to reduce offence and annoyance towards one another within the society and platforms such as the steemit communities.

STEEM ETIQUETTE

Steemit is a platform that allows its members free access of interactions among the communities and the platform as a whole, nevertheless, there are sets of laid down rules that governs each individual's activities to not only produce original materials, but also to stay active in the groups and communities to which they belong.

  • Do not bribe people for their votes
    -Do not be fake or plagiarize or pass off others work as your own.
  • Do not post and run be active
    -Do not over post
    -Do not engage in tag spamming.
    -Do not resteem always
    -Do not post unrelated links in comments.

PLAGIARISM

plagiarism can be said to be an act of presenting someone's original idea or work as your own, with or without the consent of the person or the owner of the original work especially without acknowledging the original owner in other to claim the accolades attached with the work.

This act is unprofessional and should be regarded as theft, thereby discouraged and frowned at by the society to promote originality of works and reduce the rate of copy writing.
Plagiarist makes money out of someone's stress, intelligence and hardworking and should be fought against in other to keep healthy communities of writers and arts.

Common types of plagiarism

  • Accidental plagiarism
    this implies the paraphrasing or unintentional copying of someone's works due to the act of negligence

  • self or auto plagiarism:
    This is defined as an individual's reuse of his/her own work without attribution.

  • Direct plagiarism
    this implies someone writing verbatim or without mincing words copy exactly what the original writer has written down.

  • Source plagiarism
    This defined as someone or a writer referencing an incorrect source or including a nonexisting source in his or her reference

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

In order to avoid plagiarism in your work, you must adhere to the following guidelines in a steps by step order or manner.

-While carrying out a research, endeavor to always save and account for the sources of your research.

  • while quoting from a source, you are also allowed to out in your own idea or the quote can also be paraphrase.

-Once a source is used for your work, credit must be given to the author or resource person during citations and in the reference list.

  • Always cross check your work using any plagiarism checker app to help comb or combat plagiarism.

CONCLUSION

In my stem journey, to completing my achievement 3 task on the platform, I have been made to familiarize myself with steemit etiquette and how to follow the do's and don't s rules to prevent myself from creating errors while writing my essay, which would on a higher percentage be due to plagiarized work or failure to reference or credit the original author during citation and the the reference list.

The authenticity or originality of content cannot be overemphasized on steemit otherwise it is viewed as "plagiarism" and a waste of time and resources. And this will in turn, produce good writers and creative content creators with integrity and originality.
