Chestnut.

Hello everyone!
It's been a long time since I posted here! I took care of my father during his last months.
Change of topic for something more fun!
I made my chestnut cream and I'm going to show you around with me :)

I live on the French Riviera but my family has a house in Provence where I have a chestnut grove.
Every year I make my cream at an organic jam maker.
After 5 hours of driving we are there!

This is me. (Hi :D)

First we weigh our chestnuts. No more than 320 kilos for the tank!

Perfect :D

Then they are turned over and a carpet takes them into a conduit where the skin of the chestnuts is burned.

Then high pressure water jets to finish removing skin residue.

On the way to sorting!

Magnificent isn't it?

Then cooking in a large volume of water!

It goes down into the grinder where it will join the sugar for final cooking.

This device allows you to determine the final total sugar level (fruit + sugar).

When everything is good it goes into the pipes for potting!

And voilà !

The cat validates the year's production!

First of all, it is nice to hear that you are doing well and you are taking care of your father.

Looking at the photos I was surprise to see you in completely different role. We have the same hats for operation :)

It looks like proper production and indeed natural from your own grown stuff.

Wow, I love that chestnut cream, although I have never tasted and have no idea how it should taste, is it sweet like peanut butter or more like spicy?

Do you sell them locally or to supermarkets. Is it possible to get it maybe in Amazon?

Your cat looks very satisfied with the taste of chestnut cream :)

It's sweet like a jam. Lighter than peanut butter but sweeter. (a sugar level of 55% in the end).
I sell them locally but I can find out how to send some by post. I don't know if it would really be interesting for you with the shipping price :/

If it is sweet then can be used for breakfast as spread, we are in Germany twice a year, as we still have our home there. From France to Germany the shipping probably will be easier or what do you think?

Should be the same with Scotland. Send me your address on IG. I will check that !

What about Discord, I still have your DM, do you still use it? Fo IG I need to get to desktop PC

Thank you very much @o1eh and the WOX community !

It's cream? Or is it more like peanut butter? If it's cream, then do you use it in drinks like coffee, like hazelnut?

Anyways this is an awesome post and I love it. Great job.

And my condolences on your father.

Thank you. I wasn't sure of the translation but in France we say "Crème de châtaignes" but it's more like a jam recipe.
