The technique of playing cricket is mainly divided into four parts.....

  • Batting
  • Bowling
  • Fielding and Catching
  • Wicket keeping

And I will analyze each of you. Forgive me if I make a mistake as far as I know and let me know. Thank you.

1. Batting

There are several techniques of batting, out of which I will highlight 7 techniques here.

Batting Image source

  • Grip
  • Stance
  • Backlift
  • Stroke
  • Leg-Glance
  • Drive
  • Hook Shots
  • Cut Shots

A batsman can easily entertain the spectators by applying all these techniques correctly. Batsmen are able to impress the spectators by demonstrating these techniques by hitting boundaries with quick runs or spectacular strikes. Now I want to analyze each of your batting strategies.

(i) Grip....

Grip is very important in batting. Proper grip helps to play strokes on both sides of the wicket. A right-handed batsman will hold the upper part of the handle of the bat with his left hand and the lower part with his right hand. Batsman the handle well with both fingers and thumbs from both sides. The index finger and thumb of both hands will look like the English letter V.

(ii) Stance....

A right-handed batsman has two legs on either side of the popping crease, meaning the right foot is in the crease and the left foot is outside the bowler. You have to stand on two legs with ease and comfort. The left hand will be on the left thigh and the left shoulder and eyes will be on the bowler.

(iii) Backlift....(Lift the bat backwards)

Lifting the back bat is very important for batting. The batsman will have his eyes on the ball, his left shoulder and elbow will be on the bowler.

(iv) Stroke...(Hit the ball)

The batsman has to play different types of strokes depending on the hold of the ball. These strokes can be sometimes aggressive and sometimes defensive. When forward defensive play is called forward defensive stockes.

At this point the left foot will move forward and the bat will have an angle of 30 to 40 degrees to the ground. This time the position of the soil and the bat will look like the English letter V. You can play defensively by moving backwards towards the wicket. Call it the Forward Defensive Stroke.

(v) Leg-Glance....

This stroke involves using the wrists and hands very strongly. The batted ball usually goes out through the square leg and fineleg area. Leg glance is done in two ways, the first is from the front extended leg, and the second leg is taken inwards towards the wicket. If the ball falls in front of the batsman's left foot or a little outside, the right foot has to be turned towards the middlestamp.

(vi) Drive....

Direct offensive play is very spectacular. Outside the popping crease, the left foot is forward, the bat is lifted, the ball is pushed hard and the ball is sent away, which is called forward drive.

(vii) Hook Shots....

The ball falls quite a distance from the batsman and bounces when the ball is hit by a piece of ball. This jumping ball is hit by a right-handed batsman who leans on his right foot, turns the bat into a vacuum and hits his onside.

For a hookshot, the batsman's vision is to move his legs and wrists very fast. However, these shorts cannot be taken unless the hook shorts are very dangerous skills.

(viii) Cut Shots....

When the bowler bowls a short ball, the ball can be cut by extending the front leg or by inserting the hind leg. For those who are new to the game, it is not advisable to try this technique. It is very important to choose the ball in this short. To run the bat exactly the line of the ball passing 2 feet out of the off stump.

2. Bowling

One of the main strategies of bowling cricket is that batsmen cannot take advantage of batting in high quality bowling.

Bowling Image source

Many times in aggressive bowling the batsman gets out quickly and this makes it easier to win the competition. Some of the techniques used in the early stages of bowling are described below.

A bowler follows a few steps to get the ball right. If you do not follow this step, you will not be able to bowling.

  • Accurate grip on the ball
  • Run up
  • Delivery
  • Follow-through

Accurate grip on the ball

The grip of the bowl varies depending on the type of ball being bowled. The grip of the fast ball spin ball is not the same. However, whatever the type of ball, the grip should be taken with the help of fingers, not with the palm of the hand, so the ball is under the complete control of the bowler.

Run up

The bowler came running and bowled for the batsman from the bowling crease. This process of running is important, because running increases the speed of the ball that is released from the hand. Many batsmen cannot play comfortably because of the speed. You have to use your feet in the run up and you have to run repeatedly from a certain distance to correct your footsteps. At this time the balance of the body is tilted a little forward.

Delivery

Delivery is the release of the ball at the end of the run-up. A left-handed bowler says that just before delivery, the body should be turned to the side by jumping on the left leg and with the right hand in front of the right leg, the left hand should be on the batsman with the eyes upwards.

Follow-through

After releasing the ball from the hand, the body has to follow through to maintain balance. As soon as the ball is released, the body quickly turns from the right shoulder to the batsman. The right hand tends to move backwards along the side of the left foot. The sight is on the pitch where the ball is falling. At this time a few steps are to go forward.

Bowling Category

In cricket, bowling balls are usually of two types, a fastball and a spin ball. But there are several types of divisions between fast ball and spin ball. I want to share all of them with you.

Fast ball

  • Fast bowling in swing
  • Fast bowling out swing

Fast bowling in swing

It is easy to swing the ball in fast bowling or fast bowling. But keeping the distance and the target of the ball is not easy at all. If the distance and the target are not right, the bowler has to give a lot of runs. The feature of in-swing ball is that the ball falls slightly out of the stumps and quickly runs towards the wicket. In swing, he was caught by a short-legged fielder.

Fast bowling out swing

The grip of the ball has to be held in the middle of the ball with the index finger and middle finger like a swing ball and the other three fingers are said to be below. However, during the delivery of the ball, the stitches of the ball face the fielders of the first slip.

Spin bowling

Spin is usually divided into three parts:

  • Leg spin
  • Off spin
  • Googly

Leg spin

Leg spawn bowling is basically divided into two parts: site spin, top spin. In side spin bowling, the ball rotates clockwise or counterclockwise. A right-handed spin bowler breaks the ball leg when a right-handed batsman spins and the ball rotates counterclockwise. He turns the clock again and falls off the pitch and breaks the ball. Top spin is a combination of legbrake and off brake. In spin bowling, the wrist is at right angles to the arm during delivery.

In leg spin bowling it goes fairly along the leg stump and falls on the pitch and then changes speed and runs towards the off stump. The grip index finger of the leg spin ball is also placed between the middle, second and third fingers, which helps to keep the thumb ball stuck. The left shoulder should not be too high during ball delivery. The wrist is in a relaxed position and the third finger acts as a spin.

Off spin

The first and second fingers of off-spin bowling will leave a little gap on the stitching of the ball. The thumb will stick along the stitch of the ball and the other two fingers will stick to each other below. Rotate the ball by pulling the index finger or the first finger up and down the stitch of the ball. When the door knob is turned to open the door, the wrist will rotate in the same way as the wrist in off-spin bowling.

Googly

If a leg spin bowler delivers offspin in the same grip, he is called a googly.

3. Fielding and Catching

In cricket, fielding is as impressive as batting and bowling, and winning and losing are important. The spectators rejoice when a batsman is caught out in the field.

Fielding and Catching source

Every cricketer has to be a good fielder. Fielders have to stand as the captain or bowler wishes. The ball collected from the fielding is always sent back to the wicket keeper. Catching is an important technique in fielding. The fielder has to go below the ball line to catch the ball picked up by the batsman.

The vision will be on the ball with both hands open and fingers placed side by side. Fingers and palms should be flexible. As soon as the ball touches the hand, the hand should be pulled close to the chest and the finger should be closed. Ball Catching The ball fielder has to be picked up or thrown to stop him.

Throwing

It is very important to throw quickly and accurately in offensive fielding. This makes it possible to run out a good batsman. Not only this, it also reduces the run rate of the batting side. To make a good throw, you have to use flexible wrists, arms and shoulders. Throwing technique involves throwing only after the ball is in hand. If it is a little earlier or later, the ball cannot be caught and the throwing cannot be done. Throwing requires coordinated activities of the wrists, arms, shoulders, and two legs.

4. Wicket keeping

Wicketkeeping is one of the most important positions for players on the field. This is why the best wicketkeeper has to have sharp eyes, quick response, strong hands, physical strength and courage while forming the team.

Wicket keeping source

It is generally considered that a wicket keeper is born but cannot be made. The wicket-keeper's equipment is different from other players. Wicket keeping requires pads, gloves, inner gloves, caps, guards, shoes. The wicketkeeper has to take stance like a batsman.

The reason is that you always have to be ready to catch the ball coming from the bowler or the batsman. You have to stand with your feet on the back of the wicket with equal balance on both legs or in a half sitting position. You have to lower your body and keep your eyes on the top line of the wicket. The left foot will be in the line of the middle wicket with both hands together, fingers together and eyes focused on the ball.

This was my cricket tutorial before I shared the rules of the game with you. If there is any mistake, please forgive me. Thank you. All will be well. Assalamu Alaikum.
