Recreating your own work

in #art8 years ago

It would be a lie to say that this is going to be the first time for me, because I recreated a simpler piece for a customer who loved one that I'd already sold a few years ago. From my tree dancer series, of silhouettes of (primarily ballerina) dancers with branches and foliage.

I have a customer interested in this piece of Absolem from Alice in Wonderland ruling the Game of Thrones world from his shroom throne, including the frame I made for it. In fact, it was the first frame I ever made - which means nothing to any of you actually reading this, because I couldn't find my jpg of the piece in the frame, which should explain you not seeing it here.

I'm not very much into recreations, but I'm looking forward to the opportunity to seeing the polished difference several months of discipline will bring. I wish I could pay for art classes for myself right this hot second. I had a belly dance teacher some years back who taught me one of the most valuable lessons I've learned to date - never feel you can't learn. From experts or beginners, you can always ALWAYS learn.

Anyway, hopefully I'll remember to post a side-by-side when I do this one up in a couple months. :)
