During one of my walks I decided to enter the church which is located in the very center of Edinburgh, I always pass it but this time I went inside. The interior impressed me to such an extent that I decided to take a few photos and look for something about him on Wikipedia. And what I found ... .

Podczas jednego z moich spacerów postanowiłem wejść do kościoła który jest umieszczony w samym centrum Edynburga, mijam go zawsze ale tym razem wszedłem do środka. Wnętrze zachwyciło mnie do tego stopnia że postanowiłem zrobić kila zdjęć i poszukać czegoś o nim w Wikipedii. A o to co znalazłem... .

The Church of the Virgin Mary was built in 1814 and designed by the architect James Gillespie Graham (1776–1855). The church has been significantly embellished over the years and in 1878 during the rebuilding of the church hierarchy in Scotland, it became the cathedral of the new archdiocese of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh. On July 5, 1886, he was raised to the status of an archcathedral and received all the rights and privileges she had.

Kościół Najświętszej Maryi Panny został wybudowany w 1814 i zaprojektowany przez architekta Jamesa Gillespie Grahama (1776–1855). Kościół przez lata został znacznie upiększony i w 1878 podczas odbudowy hierarchii kościelnej w Szkocji został prokatedrą nowej archidiecezji Saint Andrews i Edynburga. W dniu 5 lipca 1886 został podniesiony do godności archikatedry i otrzymał wszystkie prawa i przywileje jej przysługujące.

The cathedral was enlarged, rebuilt and renovated many times over the years, the last reconstruction took place in the seventies of the twentieth century. Pope John Paul II visited the cathedral in May 1982 during a pastoral visit to Scotland.

Katedra była powiększana, przebudowywana i remontowana wielokrotnie na przestrzeni lat, ostatnia przebudowa miała miejsce w latach siedemdziesiątych XX wieku. Papież Jan Paweł II odwiedził katedrę w maju 1982 podczas wizyty duszpasterskiej do Szkocji.

As well as these wonderful organs. But it is definitely a place that is worth visiting in person not only for religious reasons but also to see for yourself this wonderful architecture. Personally, I will definitely visit similar places more often.
