At what age do you want to stop working and what are you doing now to achieve that?

I feel like knowing at what age you want to stop working is really important, especially if you're young. Too many people spend their days working as much as they can in order to receive some money at the end of the month so they can pay their bills, rent and buy anything they need to live a decent life.

But most of those people don't really have any financial plan for the future. Most of them want to have money, but they don't really know what they should do to get it, and what's most important, they don't know when they'd like to stop working.

I mean, if you live based on paychecks, and if all your life revolves around getting paid every 30 days so you can live decently, then you'll probably have to work your entire life, even when you get old, just to sustain yourself properly.

That's why knowing how much money you'd need based on your life style and the place you live in, in order to stop working at all and enjoy life when you get old is pretty important.

Here's how this works - let's say you want to stop working by the time you're 50 years old and after that you want to spend most of your time with your family, travelling and just having a good time. You want to have enough money to not struggle too much, but you don't really care about being rich.

Knowing all that and being determined to achieve that goal will help you come up with a plan to get where you want to be. First of all, the most important question you should ask yourself before you do anything is if you want to work on whatever you can to make as much money as you need, or if you want to work on something you enjoy doing while also getting paid.

If you don't care about working on something you like, then just find out what kind of job you could get that will pay you a lot of money to do a specific thing, learn whatever you need to be qualified for that job and then start working.

In case you want to do something you enjoy, then you'll need to either find something you like doing that is also well paid, or find methods to get paid for doing something you enjoy.

Then you'll have to come up with a method to save as much money as you can. From my own personal experience, the best way to have a lot of money and to live the way you want is to save as much as you can and not spend anything on stuff you don't really need.

Come up with a plan to live a decent life while spending money just on the things you need, and then save as much as you can until you're 50 years old. Then you can stop working and you can use all the money you saved in a responsible way to live without worries and to relax or focus on a hobby.

Now, that plan is simplified for being nothing but an example, but you get the idea. Knowing exactly when you want to stop working and what kind of life you want to live based on how much money you have once you get to a certain age is pretty important.

The future will come no matter what you do, and being prepared for it is gonna make things a lot easier. Sure, unexpected things will always happen, but having a basic plan that you can stick to when it comes to your financial stability is gonna help you avoid a lot of trouble that could make your life miserable if you wouldn't have a plan to deal with everything.

Nice read, as always.

I know it may not be any of my business, but what exactly is YOUR plan?

Even though I'm still a student trying to start my life as best as possible, this question seems to be too distant. I get what idea you want to communicate, it's just that people in their twenties don't really know shit about what direction they want to go in.

To me, this paragraph says it all. And it is also what I try to apply in my life.

In case you want to do something you enjoy, then you'll need to either find something you like doing that is also well paid, or find methods to get paid for doing something you enjoy.
It's just that I wish for as many people as possible to achieve their dreams.
