Reading this in the early morning makes me want to procrastinate more (unhelpful)! I enjoyed reading and listening to the poem. One thing I truly appreciate and like is your extensive use of vocabulary -- I always end up learning new words when reading your work. Thank you for that :3

You're welcome Jeremy... for the rather verbose lessons ;-) I honestly don't go out of my way to bring complicated words to my poems it is just the way I've always written poetry, I guess my style is more inventive than simple classical style lol. Thanks for reading buddy and I'm glad you enjoyed the surf trip :-)

It does seem natural and not forced, so I get that. Especially when it comes to vocabulary that fits the theme perfectly, it shows a wide knowledge of vocabulary or theme more than anything. :3

Interesting poem. It read like shel Silverstein to me. For some reason. That’s a good thing. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks coldsteem. That's a great compliment, I hadn't read any of Silverstein's poems but I checked them out and they're really good. Cheers for reading my poem :-)

I enjoyed it, especially with the waves :)

Thanks arbitrarykitten I'm glad you enjoyed the free surfing poetry ;-) Wave-washed in slipstream-dreams

I love the consistency in your lines and how you kept the wants flowing. I particularly loved this three lines.

into the future,
sweating an ocean
of angry emotion,

Really glad you digged the poem abmakko. Any sea related poem just flies out of me and usually flows naturally as it's the place I like the most. Born in the wrong body mate, I should have been a dolphin lol Thanks for reading :-)

Im always a fan of a nature inspired poetry. Anyone will have no problem relating to it..:) thanks for sharing! :)

No probs Kymio. Many thanks for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed the poem :-)

I love the beauty and rhythm. Your word choice is excellent. I have never surfed but your verse gives me the feel of this and I entered in headfirst!

I want to go surfing
through a sunny dream,
a wave shaped slipstream

I'm glad that I captured it so well to give you that surfing feeling wandrnrose. It really is like a slipstream of time when your surfing, time fly's by in the blink of an eye as you're so focused on the rythm of the sea and trying to catch a wave. They usually come one out of 3 or 4 and you have to wait and judge it and then when you stand on a perfect wave and barrel toward the shore, wind whipping salt stained brow, the exhilaration is so much more for the waiting. :-)

Love the poem. A wonderful use of words that man!

"I want to go surfing
through adrenaline rushes,
smashed into splinters,
my mind at double speed
as I wipe out and fall,
through icicle water,
a beautiful alarm call."

This was the clincher.

Think about it a bit then set the alarm, ok!?

Thanks Jay. Yes, I will set the alarm for surf city m8 ;-) Remember North Carolina, Wilmington? I was surfing all day until I got ill, you stayed out in the waves for the rest of the day while I puked my guts up lol

I really liked this. I myself am a man of the sea. I live near the sea, I live of the sea, and I can say(At least for myself) that everything you do at the sea has that bigger and deeper meaning, and eventually you get addicted to sea. And that sensation is what I recognized here.

Thanks spalatino. I appreciate where you're coming from as I have a deep affinity for the sea myself. I am a massive scuba diving enthusiast and wish every day that I lived nearer to the sea. It is a spiritual connection with wave and water that I can hear and recognize in your words, this is something I feel also. Thanks for checking out the poem, I'm glad it resonated strongly with you :-)

Cool imagery. I think you have a lot of potential in your poetry!

Thanks uniwhisp. I think my poetry can be quite heavy on the imagery but that is my strength for sure, your comment and support is appreciated :-)
