दोहे कबीर के जो आज भी प्रासंगिक हैं
“ तिनका कबहुँना निन्दिये , जो पाँवन तर होय , कबहुँ उड़ी आँरिवन पड़े , तो पीर घनेरी होय ।।”
कबीर का मानना था कि किसी भी व्यक्ति को किसी भी आधार पर कभी भी छोटा नहीं समझना चाहिए , इसमें वह कुछ इस तरह कहते हैं कि अगर वह तिनका उड़कर आँख में आ गिरे तो असहनीय दर्द भी दे भी सकता है .
" हिन्दू कहें मोहि राम पियारा , तुर्क कहें रहमाना , आपस में दोउ लड़ी - लड़ी मुए , मरम न कोउ जाना ।”
हिन्दू राम के भक्त हैं और तुर्क ( मुस्लिम ) को रहमान प्यारा है . इसी बात पर दोनों लड़ - लड़ कर मौत के मुंह में जा पहुंचे , तब भी दोनों में से कोई सच को न जान पाया
" तू कहता कागद की लेवी मैं कहता आँरिवन की देरवी । मैं कहता सुरझावन हारि , तू रारव्यौ उरझाई रे।”
तुम कागज़ पर लिखी बात को सत्य कहते हो , लेकिन मैं आंखों देखा सच ही कहता और लिखता हूँ . मैं सरलता से हर बात को सुलझाना चाहता हूँ , लेकिन तुम उसे उलझा कर क्यों रख देते हो ? जितने सरल बनोगे , उलझन से उतने ही दूर हो पाओगे .
" काजल की कोठारी , मसि के कर्म कपाट । पाहनि बोई प्रथम , पंडित पाड़ी बात।”
यह संसार काजल की कोठरी है , इसके कर्म रूपी कपाट कालिमा के ही बने हुए हैं . पंडितों ने पृथ्वीपर पत्थर की मूर्तियाँ स्थापित करके मार्ग का निर्माण किया है .
" जाति न पूछो साधु की , पूछ लीजिये ज्ञान , मोल करो तरवार का , पड़ा रहन दो म्यान ।”
सज्जन की जाति न पूछ कर उसके ज्ञान को समझना चाहिए . ठीक उसी तरह जैसे तलवार का मूल्य होता है न कि उसकी मयान का .
" पोथी पढ़ि पढ़ि जग मुआ , पंडित भया न कोय , ढाई आरवर प्रेम का , पढ़े सो पंडित होय ।”
बड़ी - बड़ी पुस्तकें पढ़ कर संसार में कितने ही लोग मृत्यु के द्वार पहुंच गए , पर सब विद्वान न हो सके . प्रेम के केवल ढाई अक्षर ही अच्छी तरह पढ़ और उसका वास्तविक रूप पहचानने वाला ही सच्चा ज्ञानी होगा .
" बुरा जो देवन मैं चला बुरा न मिलिया कोय । जो घर देखा आपना मुझसे बुरा न कोय ॥”
मैं इस संसार में बुरे व्यक्ति की खोज करने चला था लेकिन जब अपने घर यानी अपने मन में झांककर देखा तो खुद से बुरा कोई न पाया .
