Celebrating the 100th anniversary of polish independence in Krakow!

Hey, guys this is @ramengirl. Last November 11th was Poland's 100th anniversary of independence. At that time I was in Krakow to attend Steemfest3, so I could celebrate independence day with Polish people in Poland!! Actually, I knew that it would be the 100th independence on the 11th before I got to Poland because Gandalf told me, but I had no idea how many people were going to celebrate the day and how large the crowds gathering to celebrate all day would be.

So on the morning of the 11th, I was going to have lunch with @ludorum(Ludy) and then head to the salt mine to do some exploring and meet other Steemians. After I met up with Ludy we were walking to Wawel castle and we saw the huge crowd waiting for the event. Ludy and I just stood in the crowd watching the whole event. We were so thrilled that we forgot to eat lunch haha. In the end, we couldn't make it to the salt mine, I really wanted to see it and participate in the closing dinner but I don't regret participating in the Polish 100th independence day!!

The Polish people gathered in the main Krakow square from all over the city and dressed up in red colors just like the color of the Polish flag. Poland in November is famous for its cloudy, windy and cold weather, but this year's independence day was so sunny and warm!!

We bought Polish flags at the store and carried them around all day! I visited Auschwitz the day before, so watching happy people's faces made my heart much warmer! I read a few articles about big demonstration in Warsaw after I came back to Korea, but I did not see it in Krakow, Krakow was just peaceful all day.

It was a meaningful trip because I was able to be with the Polish people in Poland on a meaningful day for the 100th anniversary of independence. I will never forget it for the rest of my life.
