Patterns of Water Droplets | 10% to SL-Charity

It is raining for days here without giving us a moment to even dry our clothes. I took an umbrella and walk around the garden to have some fresh wet air. It was an additional advantage that I could capture some awesome photographs of raindrops.

Have you ever seen there are some leaves that don't hold raindrops? Just like lotus and Gahala (Elephant's Ear Tree). There is a science behind that. Later this taken as a motivation for nanotechnology.

During rainy days, water droplets make beautiful patterns. Especially on the leaves' surface and at the tip of the leaves.

Spider webs also make a beautiful picture. Usually, spiders make webs in a hexagonal shape 🕸️. When the mist or raindrops remain on the spider webs, they convert to diamond nets. At my school age, on the way to school, I tap grasses that holding these diamond nets with my fingers. Then the water drops fall down and the net is no longer diamond.

During the rain, where insects live?

I met this guy accidentally. He was under a leave but still wet. Can you see the grasshopper in the following image?

He is almost green and can not recognize by first seen. His body also covered with some water droplets. I didn't disturb him to check whether he is alive or dead.

Then I found a spider hidden between the petals of a jasmine flower. They are not covering from rain. But just surviving without floating away on the water.

How many times you have ignored the beautiful patterns of water drops? I wish I could turn into a profession that can walk in forests and stay with nature.
