Artistic Expression: A Step-by-Step Guide to Oil Pastel Painting
To learn something, it's essential to have an interest in a particular field first. Nobody can learn anything in this world without putting in effort. We have to try ourselves. And then, to excel in it, we need guidance from an expert. From whom we can get basic ideas. Though some people are naturally talented and generate new ideas on their own.
My interest lies in painting, and I often work on my own ideas or search for inspiration online, as there are many skilled artists/painters worldwide. I came across a page of an artist who creates amazing paintings using oil pastels.
Building on the same concept, I created a simple oil pastel painting that's easy to make. My friends who share an interest in art can certainly learn from it, as it's not overly complex. The process involves just a few steps. So, let's dive into the stages of creating a painting. To keep it straightforward, I've used basic materials like paper and oil pastel colors.
This is a very easy painting, and to create it, I divided a blank page into three sections. In one section, I made a shape with very fine lines that resemble distant stripes. I used brown, green, and black colors in it. Then, I used different tones of brown color to create a hut. And in the areas where blending was needed, I blended them with my finger. This is a special feature of oil pastels, that they blend very easily.
And then, along with the hut, I created a long, slender tree with green, brown, and yellow leaves. And then, in the upper part of the painting, I filled the sky blue color and blended it. Opposite to that, in some areas of the lower part of the painting, I filled the sky blue color again, which is a reflection. And then, to show the reflection of the tree's leaves and branches in the water, I created some yellow ,light green and bright green colors in the lower part of the painting.
And then, when the painting was complete, I set it in a frame, as you can see in the first picture. Because a framed painting looks even more attractive. I hope you liked this simple painting. I will definitely share another amazing painting soon.
That's all for now, see you in the next post. Goodbye.

The details are remarkable. I didn't know one could make such beautiful art with oil pastels. At first glance, I thought these are watercolours.
Thank you very much for liking and appreciating the painting. At first glance, everyone thinks it's a watercolor painting, but trust me, blending oil pastels is much easier than watercolors.
For teaching painting to kids, I would definitely recommend oil pastels.
