Question on STEEM: Does STEEM lose value by inflation, and if so, how much/how fast?

Hi,

I heard somewhere that STEEM is subject to a yearly inflation of something like 10%. Is this true? And if so, what the % and how is this organized exactly? Do the Steemians 'print' new STEEM to influence the rate of inflation?
