Transcripts are life!

I was listening - as one does - to Tim Ferris's podcast yesterday.
Now when I say listen, it actually means reading because it is very difficult for me to listen to a podcast. It's actually one of my biggest regrets when it comes to hearing loss. Podcasts were always a way to do something useful without necessarily feeling like "working". Wherever I went, a podcast was near and I think it exposed me to many interesting people.
More importantly, it showed me how people can have meaningful interesting conversations with strangers.

People like Tim or Joe or whoever else you follow, they don't just interview friends, it's mostly people they are interested in for various reasons but never actually had a conversation with. Now this is of course, a little better than just starting with stranger but it's still very similar in that there is no comfort established.

And I try to learn something from these interactions. Because it's not a skill I have, in fact, I find myself often lost in the flow of conversation but simultaneously with nothing to say in real time. It's kind of a mind-fuck.

Now reading and listening are different but similar skills and I'm super grateful that Tim put out the transcripts and I think a lot of hearing impaired people are.
Actually, I've been on a mini-campaign to convince all podcasters to offer transcripts. So, if you want to help people with disabilities, leave a message on your favorite podcast to offer CC or anything similar.

Thank you!
