Science Fact #3 Yellowstone National Park
Hello All !
I think I mentioned that I live in Bozeman Montana before, which is close to Yellowstone National Park. So, I want to give you some information about this magnificent place.
And here is me right next to Yellowstone entrance :)
So why this place is special?
For me; I am working in the Montana State University as a researcher and lot's of research groups go to Yellowstone occasionally to collect sulfur reducer bacterial samples. However, I don't want to go into all scientific stuff.
I am going to show you pretty pictures and try to impress you ! :)
Just please look this beautiful view and tell me you are not impressed !

Volcano ready to blow
It has a huge underground volcano and according to the researchers: In thousands of years, volcano is going to erupt and erase half of the north US.
I know I don't wanna be here when that happens :)
There are some disaster based movies based on that ( the movie; ''Supervolcano'' is one of them )
Geyser that errupts every 90 minutes
There is a big geyser called Old Faithful and it errupts every 90 minutes every day !

Colorful
If you are photographer (which I am not ! ) You will love this place, it has all the natural colors in the world. Here is one photo that I took when I went there!
Extreme Microbial Strains
Park, contains some microbial species that unique for it. Such as Thermoacidophiles (which means microorganism that like to live in high acid and high temperature environment)
So, if this bacteria is producing a valuable product (such as let's say biofuel), there is no better place to collect it's sample than Yellowstone !
I am happy to address any questions you have about this place :)
I strongly recommend you to visit this beautiful place If you have the chance. Here is another river photo that I took !

can you swim there? :)
Hi :) There are couple of hotsprings that you can swim inside the Park.
But I imagine you are asking about that rainbow colored lake , and sadly no , you can't swim there. Actually color is like that because of the sulfur oxidizers, so its not safe
For the river I posted; I do not know If you can swim there, it was pretty cold when I visited the place. I would say still no. There are some dedicated swimming areas and it did not looked like one
