See What I See: The Reptilian Deed In Dirt Is Done.
My plan (all along ) was to let a strain of cannabis known as AC/DC run cover for all the reptilians in my charge.
For those of you who have minds that like to keep details organized, AC/DC is also known as cannatonic.
I chose her because she’s got a nice thick Indica leaf and she’s full like a chrysanthemum.
She knows what she’s doing; just like a bodyguard should.
What?!? When Did You Sign Us Up For Reptilian Guardianship?!? Little Miss?
Awe, the day I struck a deal with a Mother Snapping Turtle. It was back in June. She agreed not to eat my plants and to use her power (from the water) to protect them, If I agreed to use my power (from the land) to ensure her babies could safely incubate and hatch.
The deal was done then.
June.
See the snapper. She’s trying to hide on her belly pan, (in grass ) that’s way to short to provide any camouflage.
I’d just started planting the garden. Half of the plants went into the ground as Mothers (grown from seed and at approximately 3 feet tall). The others were small (10 inch) clones or cuttings (taken from the Mothers and rooted before I planted them.
As I am growing on a hill (and in full sun) I used 5 gallon (20 litre) pails that I repurposed into planting wells.
Once the bottoms of the pails were cut out, the pails were cut in half.
(This created 2 individual planting rings from each pail.)
Once sunk into the ground, each ring, creates a well which can hold 2 gallons of water. The well gives time for the soil around the base of the plants to absorb the water instead of it pooling at the bottom of the hill and being poorly utilized.
OK. Get Ready to See What I See:
September
Isn’t that wicked!?! It’s been 90 days.
I’ve also put 90 days into my turtle watch.
From the time of the laying of the clutch.
3 days ago, (on September 11th, 2019) the weather went from cool with low humidity to high and muggy.
Then a thunderstorm with lightning and high winds followed.
This was the signal.
A sudden change in temperature and some cracking good thunder with a strong rain hitting the ground.
I just knew it was time. It was The time!
Look closely.
Here they come...
It took 2 hours from the time their Mother climbed ashore, hiked her ass up hill, dug a nest, laid her clutch, buried them, and made the hike back to the water.
Once the first baby turtle dug itself out of the ground, it took 2 hours for all of them to hike downhill to their water home.
They could see and hear acutely, the moment they emerged from the earth.
They naturally knew the correct direction to travel in.
Devine Sequencing In Perfect Order
Isn’t that something!!!???!!!!
Assistance just to show some scale and detail...
This is the belly pan of a baby snapping turtle who has hatched and emerged from the earth, minutes ago...
Minutes.
Notice the details. The webbing between the toes, the perfect scales, the tiny claws and the crook to its wee tail.
Do you know what kind of star alignment has to occur to be able to be in the NOW to be present to observe this?
The window is 2 hours.
Fantastic alignment and I am grateful.
If you’re following the plot, Grandma No Chill is RH Negative.
If I must whisper in reptilian...
On this day, 11 baby snapping turtles made it home...
After some time past, I dug the nest out to be sure that my end of deal was complete and Nobody got left behind.
It was a Dirty Deed.
A big thanks to AC/DC, you can run cover for me anytime.

I just received word from Grandma No Chill...plants have been stolen in our area...Mother Snapping Turtle, use your power now, the next 3 weeks are going to require all the majik I can conjure, if my babes are going to make it.
~ Rebecca ;)
Ha ha. Dirty Deeds...Indeed. Love absolutely everything and then some about this post.
Thank you @marionbowes! Got shackled to these plants and turtles this summer. As a result we didn’t make it out east for a visit.
Crap happened at warp speed and I have retired.
All good...just circling the wagons as I catch my breath before living kicks into top gear.
Did you get through the hurricane ok at your place?
yes. thank you. we were without power for 2 days and the place is a mess. Had some Beach erosion etc. but Halifax is a mess. All over the place. sometimes being tucked in a nook in a cove is the best idea. All the time shit happens though. But hanging in. Nice to hear from you. ..:)))
So happy to learn that you have come through the hurricane unscathed.
I understand what you are saying completely about a little nook or cove providing some protection.
Oceans aren’t the same as rivers but wind and water forces still need to be respected. We’re tucked into a little cove and have an island in front of us that protects us from wake. We received the tail end of the hurricane but by the time it reached us, we were down to a severe storm warning. A few large tree branches down in our area and that was about the extent of it.
In other exciting news, I have retired....just coming up on 2 months. Now I am getting to things that I’ve wanted to for sooo long. Let’s get on with this living thing! Hahaha! A few days back, we left by canoe and paddle for 5 hours, packed a lunch and just got lost on a winding tributary. When we returned, we tracked our route on google earth and we’d paddled 10 km. It’s not that great a distance compared to running but the connection to nature was so worth it.
Have a great day! ;)
I hear what you are saying on both terms. First thing you learn on the Coast is never fight with the Ocean. It is the boss. We have had our share of winds and storms here. We take as many precautions as we can and ride it out. But we never laugh in Mother Natures face. As far as the retirement and getting lost. Yes, love it so much. Hikes, and canoes, and biking the trails and yes even running. Sometimes we take the car, or even just get lost in a city jaunt. Love it. Nice to hear from you. :))
So cool wow!!!!
And the coolest part...
It is my reality (which I can share) for all to have the experience, if they will let themselves feel it. ;)
Absolutely!
You did a wonderful job. I was laughing while looking at the cute gif of the little turtle. I thoroughly enjoyed your post. Keep up the great work, and thank you for being an asset to the weedcash community!
Thank you for your kind words. I have been completely amazed by the ecosystem that my plants and backyard attracts. Happy I could make you smile. ;)
Yeah it is a fire post imaginary.
What a brilliant adventure and I do hope your plants stay where they belong as you’ve put such hard work into them. Must have been awesome to see the baby turtles, thanks so much for sharing it with us.

I’m so glad you got to catch this @article61!
It was such a magical gift to be in the right place at just the right time.
So damn cute! At first iwas thinking a reptile was doing damage, but boy did the plot thicken, lol. Good job on being such a great stewart of your land.
So crazy! Great circle of life story for your kids, Jon.
Completely thought I blew it...
2 nights after the eggs were in my care:
The Mother raccoon had 3 hungry babies to feed too.
Thank you very much.
You're welcome!
Wow, cool plants!
Snapping turtles are pretty cool, even the big nasty ones!
Yes. They will only lay eggs once they are at least 25 years old....so the big ones are usually ancient!
What a great story. So you found another amazing use for the mother of all herbs. Now Mother cover for little snappers. Happy growing.
And good luck for next years little fledglings.😎😎🌱
Thank you @andyjem! Mother Cover I like that tagline a lot! Doing my best to live in the flow. ;)
