Let's say you're a bad organizer. Everyone has some sort of weakness in this area, but only you can identify and eliminate those aspects that you're weak at or aren't good at. When it comes to the real issues, such as misplacing your keys, forgetting your monthly bill, or forgetting to submit important documents, you'll have nothing to worry about because you're good at that.

As the interviewer listens to you, he will be assessing your strengths and weaknesses and will ask you questions regarding your past experiences and achievements which will play a huge role in assessing whether or not you're worth hiring. The interviewer will also want to know how your strengths and weaknesses match up with the company's needs. For example, if the company has several open positions each month, but needs someone who can get work done quickly and can do multiple jobs, then your strengths will be more in the sales area. On the other hand, if the company has several entry level jobs for people without any particular skill sets, your strengths will be more in accounting.

You may be saying "I know I have some weaknesses, but these will help me do my job better." You may be right, but you need to focus on your strengths. While you may be able to identify your weaknesses, your strengths will make you more valuable to the company. This is why identifying your weakness and weaknesses are important but understand where you're strong and where you need improvement is even more vital. By being aware of where you need improvement in yourself and your job, you will increase your chances of developing the skills and expertise necessary to successfully complete projects.
