Self-Quarantine || What have I learned? || Sharing my personal experience which helped me to myself during this tough time!
It's day nine I didn't go outside. My city was not in lockdown from then but I didn't feel it secure to roam around. Now, as time is running, it feels really boring inside. Especially, it's hard to manage everything, entertain my three years old, keep him busy and productive. But we have to make our way, right? And, as no one knows how many days we have to be in such a situation so it's necessary to use this time in a productive way.
Maybe you also have seen how people are coming up with new ideas to make them busy during the self-quarantined period. But at the end of the day, we all feel bored and don't get enough to feel good. I'm going to share some of my ideas which worked really well.
The most necessary thing is 'being in a routine'. Don't just lay on the bed or sofa for the whole day, don't go for ready-made dinner. Rather make time for everything- eating, sleeping, entertainment, exercise, and, work. For me, it's really important. Because I have to all the house chores, cooking, engaging with my son, making time for me and all.
Don't take this time 'time-off'. rather think this time as an opportunity to do something productive. I was in this bad idea in the early two days and found it really destructive.
Entertain yourself. Do what makes you feel good. Don't be in front of the screen the whole day. Read, write, meditate, cook, paint; whatever you like. Me and my husband watching TV series on Netflix. Also, I'm gardening in my balcony and reading books.
Learn something new, something you thought you would do but never had the chance. I start to read a book I bought earlier but never had enough time.
Never compromise with your sleep. Yeah, I also did this several times. It's a killer. It just ruins the day. And, believe this is the reason you are feeling bored, not getting enough energy and not feeling well. So, get a good sleep. You may not get this much time to sleep later!
Connet with people. You will feel energized. I call my Ma (mom), sister, brother, friends, different other relatives every single day. It helps me boost my positive mood.
Don't scroll all day long. Social media became full of Corona news. It doesn't make me feel healthy. And it will increase your unnecessary anxiety. Get an update about the news and know what's happening around but never scroll your phone or be in front of monitor all the time.
Take personal care. It can be a good bath, a good cup of coffee, mediation or anything you like. But make time for yourself, some alone time.
It felt tough in the early two or three days for me to manage everything. Because I'm not used to doing all these things together. And I can feel people who used to had a different life, finds it really difficult to cope. Yeah, it's hard. And, as it's associated with uncertainty so it's a lot harder.
You will also find different online ideas about how to get rid of boredom. You can also get help from that. Whatever you do, make sure you use your time in a proper way and feel no regret later.
Stay safe, stay healthy and stay at home.
