Project Details

Dollar Street is a project invented by Anna Rosling Rönnlund and developed by Gapminder an independent Swedish foundation with no political, religious or economic affiliations. They try fight devastating misconceptions about global development with a fact-based worldview everyone can understand. It very interesting project, where they try to show the world how people live their life from the country all over the world. For more detail information please visit this site Dollar Street.

This is my second contribution for the project, It's fascinating to see how the project is describing the life of the people all around the world, comparing income generating with the way how it influencing the need fulfillment. For example, the provision of basic need from hygiene to food. In my case I translated two strings of the project, hand soap and meat, where it shows how people with low, middle and higher income situation related to hand soap and meat provision. The translation process was very challenging because it was contain with many code line, and need to give extra focus attention so no code is missing. This is also the reason for me to translate two strings, to ensure that the minimum words requirement is meet. Since each string consist of around 800 to 900 words and the code words almost half of it.
