Dejavu
What makes football very interesting, especially in England is the upsets that pop up when you least expect. From the quadruple dream of Manchester City, Wigan have succeeded in trimming it down to three.
Going into the FA Cup tie today, a lot of football lovers would never have predicted the lactic to upset the Citizens, even though 2013 would still be fresh in the memory of City, albeit, not the same set of players.
Wigan won the 2013 FA Cup, courtesy of a late minute header from Ben Watson and I'm sure Wigan came into the game with such believe.. We can do it.
Wigan defeated Manchester City again, tonight, to qualify for the next round of the FA Cup via a 76th minutes well taken strike by Will Grig after Kyle Walker, unaware of his teammates' positioning dummied the ball into the part of Will Grig and the Lactic striker gracefully grabbed the opportunity.
Although City had gone a man down in stoppage time of the first forty-five minutes after Fabian Delph picked up a Needless but rightly called red card with a full lunge on a a Wigan player, City still proved to be the better side of the two. The tackle by Delph was absolutely rash and silly and the referee was correct to have given him his matching orders but depicted that, City were the better side.
The sending off sparked a lot of hot blood from Sergio Aguero and Manager, Pep Guardiola but replays show it was a right call. The referee would have issued a yellow card, which would have been a wrong call but he perhaps was called to order through the comlink.
Well, that's the funny part to football, it's not always like you expect. It is however Dejavu and I'm sure Wigan Manager, Paul Cook would be the happiest on earth tonight.

I remember the Ben Watson header like it was yesterday. You just have to love the FA Cup, granted only when your team is not the one being knocked by minnows. Without a doubt red and bad mistake by Walker but well done Wigan.
Sure, the tagline for the FA Cup is, "Expect the unexpected". Silly mistake by Walker but... Hey.. It's the FA Cup
Exactly I just don't think Pep would accept that excuse from Walker....lol.
Nice effort in the write up.
I agree the red was deserved. Needless and bad challenge.
Stupid mistake by Walker.
Love the result though.
Needless tackle and deserved Red card.
I was surprised that the mighty city could lost a match not even a draw. Every day cannot be a winning day though.
Nice effort from Manchester city even with a man down at 45th minutes. I think they should just focus on the Champion League and Epl title.
