Ionomy - the most unreliable exchange I've ever encountered

View this post on Hive: Ionomy - the most unreliable exchange I've ever encountered

I've moved to Hive, along with most other people, following Justin Sun's takeover of Steem in the Spring of 2020. I believe hive is a lot more decentralised than Steem!

That's a shame. You also need to watch out doing market trades as the prices can swing sharply and wildly. I lost out on one of mine due to that.

I had the opposite, I've got some insanely cheep Steem from ionomy, then sold it for twice the price pretty much immediately!

Lucky you. I need to watch out for this if I use them again. There are limited places to sell Steem, but I only need that for a couple more weeks.

I made an account there when they first showed up, but there was always something slightly sketchy about them... sad to hear they really are that messed up, and appreciate the warning!

Hopefully you haven't suffered any losses?

I had a couple of small limit buys on, I'm sure it'll be back up, I would have heard if it had just shut down!

Only Binance, Huobi and Bittrex for me.

i dont leave anything on there, .... just market order,.. take the hit on the bad spread. but when there no other option i use it, .... normally Binance and coinbase pro.

I kept some on as I picked up about 2500 Steem for 1300SATs, which I then sold immediately for 80% more - and it's free to transfer Steem around.

Every now and then someone just dumps on ionomy!

I should be able to get my money back out.
