Heavy Rainfall, Bireuen Regency Hit by Floods.

Heavy rain that has poured over Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, since early Tuesday, April 8, 2025, has caused flooding in a number of villages (Gampong) in two sub-districts, namely Peudada and Jeumpa. The flooding began at around 00.14 WIB with water levels varying between 10 and 60 centimeters.

Peudada Sub-district is one of the affected areas. In Peudada Sub-district, floods inundated the Banda Aceh-Medan national road, precisely in Gampong Ikue Alue with water levels between 30 and 40 centimeters. Meanwhile, in Gampong Tanjong Seulamat, water crossed the road around the Paya Sikameh area with a height of 60 centimeters.

Several houses of residents in Gampong Meunasah Alue were also reported to be inundated with water levels of around 10 centimeters. In addition, floods also inundated the Pinto Rimba, Dayah Mon Ara, and Lawang areas.

Then Garot Village, Blang Kubu, Blang Matang, Meunasah Cut, Alue Keutapang, Alue Sijuek, Tgk Dibathon, Hagu and Keude Alue Rheng.

Meanwhile, in Jeumpa District, water was reported to have flooded Teupok Tunong and Tupok Baroh Villages with a height of between 20 and 40 centimeters. The water in several other villages such as Abeuk Usong, Blang Seupeng, and Paloh Seulimeng was reported to have started to recede.

There were no fatalities or residents who had to evacuate. The latest condition on Wednesday (9/4/2025) afternoon in Peudada, the water had receded. Meanwhile, in Jeumpa, the water had also started to recede, the rice plants that had been flooded began to show their leaves.

Meanwhile, the emergency bridge built on the border of Hagu and Lawang Villages, Peudada District, Bireuen Regency, collapsed on Tuesday (8/4/2025) night. The bridge was previously built as a replacement for the permanent bridge that collapsed in January 2025.

As a result of the collapse of this emergency bridge, hundreds of residents of Hagu and Lawang Villages, Peudada District, Bireuen, were isolated because there was no replacement access. The collapse of this bridge had a wide impact. In addition to residents' access being cut off, residents' houses and government facilities were also threatened.

Meanwhile, the Head of Peudada Bireuen District, Erry Seprinaldi SSTP MSi, stated that the emergency bridge collapsed after heavy rain poured over the Peudada and Bireuen areas since Tuesday afternoon. In addition to causing the bridge to be damaged, dozens of villages around the area were also flooded.

"We have reported this collapsed bridge disaster to the PUPR Service and the Bireuen Regent for immediate follow-up," said Erry.

As a result of this incident, 315 residents of Lawang Village, Peudada District, Bireuen, are now isolated.
