Regent Mukhlis Hopes 360 Hajj Pilgrims Can Perform the Hajj Pilgrimage Smoothly.
The Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis, ST, opened the peusijuk (powdered flour) ceremony for prospective Hajj pilgrims (JCH), witnessed by the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), relevant officials, and religious scholars. The ceremony took place on Monday morning (April 27, 2026) at the Sultan Jeumpa Grand Mosque, Kota Juang District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh.
The peusijuk (powdered flour) ceremony for the central region was presented by Tgk Ahmad Maulana, the western region by Nurdin Arifin, and the eastern region by Azmi Yusuf. The peusijuk ceremony was conducted alternately by the Grand Imam of the Sultan Jeumpa Grand Mosque and the Chairman of the Bireuen MPU, Saifuddin Muhammad SHi MH.
Second, Tgk Muhammad Fafiz, Head of the Bireuen Regency Baitul Mal (Islamic Board of Trustees), and Tgk Ismuhar, SAg, Head of the Peusangan Religious Affairs Office (KUA), also served as speakers.
Munawar, M.Kes, Head of the organizing committee and Head of the Bireuen Islamic Sharia Office, stated that this year's Bireuen Hajj pilgrims total 360. They will depart for the Holy Land in two groups: Group 5 from BTJ Aceh, with 158 pilgrims, and Group 8 from BTJ Aceh, with 212 pilgrims.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis, in his remarks, stated that all prospective pilgrims had completed the Hajj rituals at both the sub-district and regency levels, according to the schedule and regulations established by the committee.
"Today, we are carrying out the flour-to-bake procession, commonly known as peusijuk, which is a noble tradition of the Acehnese people that is still maintained to this day," he said.
The Regent conveyed several messages to prospective Hajj pilgrims: first, maintaining good health before departure. Second, regarding medication management, pilgrims with a history of certain illnesses are reminded to ensure sufficient personal medication supplies and carry them in carry-on luggage (not large luggage).
Third, adequate rest. "I urge pilgrims not to overexert themselves in busy social activities/celebrations (walimah) leading up to departure so they don't collapse on the day," said Regent Mukhlis. (Kbr)
