¿ WILL IT BE POSSIBLE TO LIVE A LIFE BASED ON RESPECT?

According to the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy, the term respect comes from the Latin respectus which means: attention, consideration, veneration. It refers to the compliance that is made to someone.

Currently we hear many people complain about the lack of respect, an action that we look at with astonishment in our society and that day by day is glimpsed with greater impetus.
Respect has been lost little by little in our social sphere, and kindness has also gone with him, little do we hear people say: please, thank you, excuse me, excuse me ...

Respect implies estimating, properly assessing the personal condition of others and being willing to collaborate with them so that they fully develop their personality.

When we recognize this respect, duty appears, but not a duty imposed by others, by the family or by society; duty has to emerge from oneself as a secret will to improve that drives us to be truly free

Respect according to the Bible
"It refers to the compliance that is made to someone. In this way, respect is an extremely important value in our daily lives, since it plays an important role in society where we live with others in different areas, in the family, school, work, among others ".

God honors respect as an inviolable value among human beings and it is a disgrace practiced among men that obviously does not please God.

The bible tells us the following because of the lack of respect in the quoted verses:

2 Kings 2: 23-24
“Afterward he went up from there to Bethel; And as he was going up the road, some boys came out of the city and made fun of him, saying, "Bald, go up!" Bald, go up! looking back, he saw them, and cursed them in the name of Jehovah. And two bears came out of the mountain and tore forty-two boys out of them. "
(RVR1960)

These verses seem to present Elisha as a ruthless man. However, according to the uses of the language and culture of the time, the word boys alludes to idolatrous people and not simply innocent young people, even more, the phrase they repeated, go up ... go up, it seems a reference to the ascension of Elias. In effect, they mocked the God of Elijah and Elisha, for which they were promptly punished. In this sense we realize that mockery is a lack of respect that ended in tragedy and obviously God cannot be mocked and lack of respect has negative consequences.

Every person deserves to be respected or to be treated with respect for the glory of God since respect for the people, with whom I deal daily and who make up my environment, my social world, is necessary. They resemble me, they have something in common with me, they are men and women trying to coexist in society, children. adolescents, adults and the elderly who have dreams of improvement and want to make them come true like me

Leviticus 19:32
Get up in front of the gray hair. Show respect to the elderly. Show fear before your God. I am the lord
(RVR1960)

God exhorts through his word that we honor people especially the elderly since not doing so is a dishonor before him, because another form of respect is family respect. The family is the most immediate organized human world that distinguishes human beings, as children grow up they begin to have duties that they themselves must see, not imposed by parents but supervised and guided by God

Proverbs 22: 6
6 Instruct the child in his way,
And even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
(RVR1960)

As parents we have the duty to instruct our children in the principles of God so that they are honest and respectable people and by the word they can fulfill their duties by what has been learned and guided by the parents

1 Peter 2:17
Honor everyone, love your brothers, fear God, honor the king.
(RVR1960)

In this way we understand that respect must be an action practiced in good faith for all since this is the will of God.

It is possible to live a life based on respect
