First Real Estate Transaction Made Using Bitcoin in Texas
Austin, TX -Sheryl Lowe of Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty completes a real estate sale using Bitcoin.
Apparently the transaction went smoothly.
"In all of my 33 years of closing transactions, I honestly couldn't have expected something so unique to go so smoothly. In a matter of 10 minutes, the Bitcoin was changed to US Dollars and the deal was done!”
-Sheryl Lowe
Cool, I just put out a feel to purchase a camper for Bitcoin, they said they were open to it.
I'm buying a motorhome, but using fiat. Gotta save that crypto, but I am going to put a giant Steem logo on the side! Might make for some good photo ops as I travel across the country talking about Steemit.
Very cool. I can't wait to see it.
This is pretty much my goal with crypto. Now hopefully Bitcoin will out pace the Austin market! It'll be close.
Haha! Not sure if even Bitcoin can do that.
Just curiosus how exactly would the logistics work in this case? Suppose the house cost $100,000 did the buyer purchase $100k on Coinbase/GDAK and then send it to a private wallet? (Is that even possible given Coinbase daily limit?) If that was the case then the buyer would have had to convert it.
Great article and exciting the see it being popularized!
I'm not sure, but I think the buyer had bought them previously and transferred them to the seller/realtor who immediately changed it into USD.
this is sweet as cherry pie. I've heard of these transactions but damn. I was hoping it was a BTC to BTC transaction. Either way, this story shows the power of crypto in normal society.
Nice :) 10 (maybe 20) years from now we probably be able to buy houses with multiple crypto currencies ^.^
sooner than later with Bitshares
I hope so! And it does make for the easiest way without any gov involvement :)!
That's amazing! Glad to hear bitcoin has made the news in a positive way, helps to negate the heat Mr.Dimon of JPMorgan is giving the currency by labeling it a scam! Thank you for sharing
Congrats to crypto currency.
Great news!
Great job there in Austin!
This is pretty gnarly. And what better place than Austin to lead the way. I've had many a good time out there and will likely be out there again soon...I guess it's time to hit up @ned for a tour of the office ;)
