New Device Enables You Listen to Music from Plants

in #technology8 years ago

I have often wondered if plants possess musical abilities. Do plants create any music? Do windy forests and bushes produce musical melodies?

As weird as the thought may be; a unique marriage between science and technology says the answer to the above questions is YES! Plants can listen to music and also create music.

Science overtime has increasingly supported the concept that plants and trees function with a certain degree of intelligence and innate logic uniquely different from we humans.

The recent discovery and invention by a team of researchers shows that the music produced by plants allows people to relax and connect with its intelligence all over the world.

Research

At the Damanhur Federation of Communities near Turin in Italy, a group of researchers began an intensive study about plant communication, in a bid to prove that plants are indeed sentient species.

Furthering their research, the team developed instruments capable of capturing electromagnetic pulses from movement, several surfaces of plant leaves and their roots, and subsequently turned them into sounds and rhythm.

They also invented a U1 machine available across the world called “Music of the Plants”. The device is a patented device and for the best possible service and maintenance of the device, each unit contains a unique number.

Invention of the GreenNote device

With nearly two years of research completed, SingingPlant, a social organization decided to take the plant music concept to an advacend level by developing a high-end compact gadget called the ‘GreenNote’ which uses plant energy to create music.

Scientific studies and musical research has shown that relaxing musical tunes lower blood pressure, slows down our pulses, and decreases stress hormones. Hence, the GreenNote device is built to allow the melodic music resonating from your plant to help you relax and relieve stress.

How it functions

The simple to operate GreenNote device requires you to just turn it on. Then link the device to your plant through cable terminals. The device then automatically converts the energy from your plant once it is connected, into music and uses a detachable speaker to enhance the music by making it louder.

GreenNote comes with a 2 bio-sensing electrodes; one end is connected to the leaf, and the other end is connected to the soil next to the stem of the plant. This enables the device convert electrical impulses of the plants into music, so that you can hear your plant sing.

The bio-sensing electrodes pick up electrical micro-voltage fluctuations and send them to an Arduino Uno board; a circuit where programs written specially, aid the conversion of signals to digital data and in turn get converted to music which is emitted as output, through the speakers.

Structure and Components of the GreenNote

A really cool phenomenon of the device and the technology is that any external interactions with the plant connected with automatically alter the music since the current flowing will change due to physical touch. The acts of touching, watering and exposing the plant to sun will change the melody of the plant’s music.

In Summary

The technology of plant music combined with the GreenNote device means that once properly connected you can wake to the sound of a different melody; as created by your favourite plant. You could also set a time and let the natural course of plant music wake up daily.

The technology is amazing and thanks to Bluetooth technology, you can carry out your routine daily activities like doing yoga or any other pleasurable activity, while listening to your favourite plant sing for you.

The GreenNote inventors are currently working to develop a app for mobile devices which would enable a user to control the volume, set alarm, change the music type, and so much more.

Can you imagine if a thing like this was readily available in stores, and people everywhere were just listening to plants in the background of whatever they were doing?

Whoa dude...

Lolz..... @bidnat, right?
It would either be the coolest thing ever or perhaps the weirdest thing. It would all boil down to the interpretation of a beholder.
But then, who knows, our music artists might become jealous of "plant music"...lol
I wouldn't put it past our popular music celebs to start making and simulating 'plant music' also....hehehe
Thanks for dropping by, buddy!

Plants ?? this is amazing but discoveries are getting out of hand...well crafted post @rickie

Thanks @davidekpin. Science is taking the words out of our mouths with the repeated amazing and stunning discoveries being churned out. If we can manage our technological advancement and not abuse it, then the future is really going to be bright, scientifically. Thanks for visiting.

You welcome and i will keep visiting, am a fan

Palms are Reggae
Oaks are Classical
Briarthorns are Metal
and Catnip is Dupstep (if you are a cat)

This technology is truly amazing. Waking up to different sounds from plants around you I'm sure will be so beautiful. It is a welcome development and I hope more research is put it. We can't wait to have it in Nigeria

Thats great... sometimes science and technology are jaw dropping. Thank you for sharing.

Given that this exactly the same article written by futureentech, I am going to write the same response: As a person that lives at Damanhur, helped bring the Music of the Plants to the world, and researches plant intelligence and plant music and communication, it is not really fair to mix our 40 years of experience to create the Music of the Plants device on the same page as a group that has no experience with plant intelligence. I applaud Green Note for wanting to step into this important space and give a voice to plants, but from everything I have seen, they don't seem to really be taking into consideration the intelligence of the plant making the music.
