Hello, dear reader, avid video game player, I hope you had a great morning, and I wish you a great day. Today's topic is one, in fact, exciting. Next, I'll begin to point out some of the things that make Call of Duty a very entertaining saga for some, loved by others. If you read it in its entirety and have an opinion to give, I gladly invite you to give it in the comments; I will answer you as soon as possible.

Anyway, let's get to the point. We all know Call of Duty; there is no need for introductions. Icon of the modern first person shooter video games, leader in sales, easy to access in terms of gameplay, and this all-powerful work was not so much in its time as it is now, not nearly. And that, in my humble opinion, is due to many factors, which I will explain little by little in this article.

Why is its multiplayer so prestigious? This is where we have more to grab and deal, but nevertheless, I will be brief. What makes CoD unique is its agility. The games, in comparison to sagas like PlanetSide, Counter Strike, Battlefield, are immediate; because their approach is different. CoD touches and fights the gunfight face-to-face, one-on-one, and takes it beyond the ordinary, creating thousands of new, frantic and unexpected opportunities and experiences.

Call of Duty presents an enormous accessibility that was not customary in the biggest and best known games of the genre, such as Doom, Far Cry 1, or Gears Of War. This gameplay was easy to handle, and although the difficulty was in online competition, playing in story mode was much easier than in other campaigns, such as Battlefield 3, a game where the feeling of play was slow, realistic, as the character had to make all the moves, such as climbing platforms or crawling on the floor. On the other hand, COD is fast, animations are scarce and fast, allowing the player to understand how the game works even faster than in other cases.

And that is one of the most important elements of video games, an element that has characterized them since their creation in the far 80’s: The difficulty, and therefore, repetition to either increase the score, endure more living time; succeed in overcoming the challenge, among others. How do you explain the Call of Duty difficulty? There are four different variables in the older Call Of Duty, which have evolved in the games of the current times: Campaign, multiplayer, zombies, and special operations.

The campaign in the Call Of Duty has always been criticized and underestimated for its short duration, for the enormous ease it presents (clearly, I agree that it is easy in the difficulty "Recruit", the easiest, because innocent those who decide to try it in Veteran, hehehe...), and for the clichés that it haves too.

This doesn't prevent many people from loving the plot of the saga, such as Modern Warfare 2 or Black Ops 1. In my case, that's my favorite, Black Ops 1, for being one of the darkest, having much more grounding in reality than the others, and for being epic as it was.

In my opinion, the way I've been most fascinated, caught, amused and in love with the saga, has been the Zombies mode. Present since COD 5: World At War, the zombies have left a mark on all those of us who have tried and played this mode to the fullest. Not only does it have a very extensive and complex Lore (history and mythology), but it has also given it little by little, tiny bites, for more than 5 years.

In addition, it is a difficult mode, because it requires too much concentration and agility on the part of the player, not counting luck, an essential factor. And finally, each map has a great personality and tells a different part of the story, such as Ascension, Five, Die Rise, The Giant, etc...

While the original zombies are part of World At War and Black Ops 1, 2 and 3, the special ops are from the opposite family, the Modern Warfare: They are small missions in which we are ordered to carry out some military action, without a general history or exact characters, such as, for example, rescuing a hostage from a building with bombs, or extracting classified information from an enemy base, or attacking a convoy, etc.

The latter one is only a secondary option for those who get bored of the multiplayer for a while, and this mode increases the difficulty progressively by missions, just as zombies do by levels.

This has been all for today, my dear readers. In the other half of this post, I will talk about one of the many tools COD has used to be what it is today: Killstreaks. This post has as its publication date tomorrow, so don't miss it! If you liked or were interested in this content, I'd love to hear from you via comments, with your opinion on the subject. Bye-bye!

Sort:

The 360 degree no scope shots were the rave for modern warfare 2. I still remember people still playing modern warfare 2 multiple even when 3 was out!

That's just right man! The types of players that are all around COD are so different that I couldn't talk about all them in only want post. I do prefer the assault rifles, but that's personal choices. (And I can't deny that the Black Ops 2 Ballista was so epic) Greetings, and thanks for your comment!
