DOODLES IN THE DEEP: Are they black and orange OR brown and red??...And my venture in creating better posts here on Steemit.

in #art8 years ago (edited)

What do you see? Black and orange or brown and red?

What? It worked on Twitter several months back with that stupid dress that was blue and black...or was it white and gold? Heck, I don't even remember. It is funny how the smallest thing like that can cause a comment war on social media, am I right? But if you really stop and think about it, what if each person sees a different color? What if my brain recognizes a deep purple, while your brain sees a brilliant sky blue?

This is my sixth post here on Steemit and I'm realizing rather quickly that it is time to step it up..

My recent posts were more of what you would call....Test posts, maybe? I do plan on making a nicer #introduceyourself post eventually with the Steemit sign and what-not to verify that I'm not a bot, but until then, I added my account name in this first picture to verify that these are all original pictures. I want to get my artwork out there. The fact that I could have a chance to use my talents instead of letting them shrivel and die is, well, exhilarating.

As a young child, I remember people asking, "What do you want to be when you grow up, young man?". Besides the thought of 'I'm just a child, why would I decide that at the age of seven', my longest standing reply would be, "I want to be an artist"...Which was usually met with the response of, "Artists don't make any money".

As a seven year old, I can't recall if that was mortifying or if I didn't really care about the money part. It was most likely the latter, as I didn't have bills or responsibilities at age 7 and all I wanted to do was make everyone happy with my little drawings.

Check out this wicked sweet .Gif...Unless you have epilepsy, in which case it's probably not a good idea.

But I mean, hey, do what you want.

I would like to give a shoutout to @pixielolz, @poeticsnake, @in2itiveart, @fairytalelife and @opheliafu. You all are the first five artists I came across when I started here on @steemit and every single one of your posts have been an encouragement to keep posting my art. It really helps to see people here that share the same interests as yourself. Thanks so much!!!

Thanks for looking, and if you like my post, check out my other recent posts (even though they aren't as good..I'm learning quickly) like this one where I designed a donut monster tattoo for a friend of mine with Juvenile Diabetes

WOW! First of all, really great work! I hope to see so much more from you in the future! And second, thank you for the shoutout, it gives me a great and good feeling to know that my work is appreciated and it stimulates me to post more and work even harder. Its great that out paths have crossed. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much, @poeticsnake!
Your work is fabulous and very much appreciated by me. I look forward to seeing your daily progression on your mural!
Thanks for your upvote and kind words.

I really love how you use color in your work. Inspires me a lot to be honest because I mostly just use black and now I want to try something with color. I just posted a new tutorial and in that one you can see the finished drawing I was working on yesterday!

I usually just do black and white also, but I recently tried it out and I love how certain colors in small amounts make the picture really pop! You should try it...and of course share it, because I wanna see it. Haha
I saw that and I love it so much! I want to do a wall in a house with doodles, wouldn't that be neat?

Fuck, that would be amazing. How many hours will go into a full wall? My drawing was 11 hours and almost 30 minutes on a3 paper. I am going to try it and of course show it and give a shoutout to you in that post seeing you are the reason I am going to try with one color.

11 hours?! Ouch...I don't know, then. Haha Maybe 11 days? But it would be soooo cool. Maybe on a larger scale with a paint brush. Or one of the super jumbo sharpies.
That would be awesome! Thank you so much@poeticsnake!

Oh it would be awesome! The new home style!

these are so cool. Do you do any web design? I may need graphics.

Keep up the good work.

I have been known to dabble in graphic design, yes!

I really like this post - and I like the art - I just drew on some shoes I got at the thrift store with a sharpie the other day - in this kind of fashion - fashion pun... very nice - keep up the good work....

Thanks @in2itiveart! That sounds awesome, I would love to see your finished work!
