A trip to Bangladesh Military Museum

in Traveling Steem21 days ago

A few days ago I visited a museum and I will try to show you as much as possible of the whole place virtually. Bangladesh Military Museum, just hearing the name, you can understand that this interesting place is built in honor of the armed forces of our country.

The whole place is administered by the military force in Bangladesh and under the supervision of the present Awami League government. It is located at Bijoy Sarani of the capital Dhaka. This entire area is controlled by the military.

Ticket prices are kept very low to encourage the general public to visit here. There is some variation in the ticket price for Bangladeshis 100 taka/0.91 Usd, SAARC Citizen 300 taka/2.74 Usd and foreign citizen 500 taka/4.57 Usd.

It is open on other days of the week except Wednesday but can be visited only in two periods per day. So let me share with you some pictures of indoor of the museum on first impressions.

The museum is large in size and consists of a four-storied building in which each sector houses the artificial equipment of different forces. I have never seen the weapons of the military with my own eyes, but on the occasion of going there, I saw several types of equipment that are used by our military for the defense of the country.

I am dividing this blog into four parts where each sector will have picture gallery of different armed force units.

Navy Section:

The underground sector contained artificial versions of equipment used by the Navy. This section was on the lowest floor of the museum towards the underground. Visitors can access this lower section by a staircase from the basement.

I saw several ships used by the navy. A separate room was made to show what the inside of a warship looks like where after entering I felt like I was in a real warship. Things like radar and radio frequency were also there.

Moreover, in this part of the underground, there were submarines, many speed boats, ship sailors and captains' cabins, the most interesting symbol of sovereignty. Many of these names are unknown to me.

In this part of the room, the view of the ground floor was being visualized through video. I walked around the whole room and I felt like I was under the sea and yes, in this place I saw a beautiful whale.

Military and Army Section:

The second floor is the military section and this was the base section of the museum where tourists first see it after entering. This is the most important section because here the most valuable and powerful military forces of our country are praised. There were some artificial scenes of how they camped and trained.

Military plays a very important role in keeping any country safe from invading forces. While participating in an operation many types of equipment are needed besides weapons and this section of the museum had it all.

There I saw how the military groups fight against the enemy during an operation, the equipment needed to defend themselves, the ammunition used in the war, cannons, jeeps, bunkers, rifles, etc. Below I am sharing with you some images of military forces.

From the bottom of my heart, I respect and salute those who risked their lives in operations to keep our country safe. The scenes of bravery of the military enthralled me.

Liberation War Section:

The third section carries the glory of our country. Yes, in this section only the various forces used in our great war of liberation and the various events that happened during the war, the newspaper clippings of that time, the scenes of the enemy losing to us in the war of liberation have been beautifully depicted.

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who played the most important role in liberating our country and his activities during the war period have been placed in this Museum. I found there traces of several important events in the history of Bengalis.

Many crests and parts of medals were kept there in honor of the freedom fighters. I tried to read some parts of history which were pretty good that we defeated the invaders with a less military force and freed our country.

Air Force Section:

The last sector was the air force which was on the last floor of the building. In this part of the museum, there were small and big fighter jets, helicopters and all were hanging above. I have seen several types of weapons fired from aircraft, including many missiles.

I have seen many fighter jets on TV that participate in various operations, especially the sounds of these jets when they fly are quite amazing. Jet sounds were being played in this section of the museum which sounded like I was in an air war.

This is where I ended up visiting the museum and it was one of my best visits this year where the experience was amazing. My entire 2 hour visit made me respect our entire military several fold.

As a traveler I can confidently say this was one of the best museums I have ever visited. I have tried to cover most of the whole area in this post. But to enjoy the real taste, you must visit this military museum built under the supervision of Bangladesh government.

Happy Traveling.

Hello traveler! 👋🏼@ripon0630, Nice to watch Bangladesh Military Museum through your photographs. You reminded me of the trip a couple of weeks ago to the War Memorial Canberra which has a large number of weapons, replicas, and photographs from World War -1 and 2. I took 150-plus photos which I intend to post here soon.
