INTRODUCTION

Good evening my fellow steemians! How are you people doing? It is harmattan season, hope you all are enjoying it! Best season ever!
Let me just give you a brief diary of how my day was spent today, Tuesday, 21st December, 2021.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Just like every other day, today was full of activities for me. But the topmost on my schedule today was a transaction at UBA, Factory Road Branch, Aba, Abia State here in Nigeria (hahahaha, I'm giving detailed address because I know some might be reading my post from diaspora). Earlier on, I fixed an appointment for the transaction with the person I'm having a deal with for 10am, so as to enable me finish some home chores before going out. But, on a second thought, I had to call him to reschedule the appointment. We then agreed to meet at the bank by 8am, reason being that the bank might be congested given the sit-at-home observance that extended our weekend to Mondays in this part of the world, and also the rush occasioned by the spirit of festivities.

Through out the night I was waking up at one one hour interval to check my time (infact, I have a deficit of sleep even as I write. Please can somebody tell me to go and sleep! Hahahaha, I will not, until I finish this post for you to read). It was at if I'm about making a distant journey. I even had dreams of me doing some transactions in the Banking Hall.
Well, be that as it may, here comes the morning I was waiting for! It was such a chilly morning due to the harmattan. I woke up even it was about 5:30am and prepared myself for the movement. I couldn't even wear the shirt and pair of trouser I ironed for the day because of the cold. So I eventually found myself in a pair of blue Jean and stone-wash pullover. By the time we got to the bank, the whole place was filled up. Such that we had to take sit in the canopy set outside the back to wait for turns.

Waiting for my turn

Then, I was asking myself; so,despite how early I got up, prepared for this appointment, there are still people who got here before me? Did they even sleep at all? What is so special about this festive period that everyone is so busy here and there and losing sleep over it? Up till this moment, these questions are still begging for answers! The entrance into the bank was a no go area. The security personnel of the bank was found their best not only to control the crowd, but also to ensure the observation of the covid19 safety protocols, as you can see here!

The Crowdy Entrance
The crowd was something else! At a point, a women who wanted to make use of the ATM machine was shouting repeatedly at the security men saying 'please I want to enter the ATM'! We all busted into laughter, wondering how possible it is for someone to 'enter the ATM'.

CONCLUSION

However, I was able to gain access when a friend of mine who work with the bank saw my sitting as waiting. So he asked me to follow him and I did. Without wasting time, I was attended to and I left. Waao, what a day!

Banks this time around is a place to waste a lot of time since the COVID-19 pandemic. And the latest Monday Sit-at-home did not make things easier. Am glad you were able to complete your transaction after all. You deserve a cool rest tonight sir. Thank you for sharing your dairy with us. Looking forward to the next. @rogerssnr
