Been Neglecting My Post More Paintings

Shapes, Animals, and Colors Lose Their Spark After Death 2026. Oil on paper, 18 x 24"

Lately, the three-a-day until 20,000 has got me playing catch-up because I’m off gallivanting. Each day away from the easel means I have to make up 3 paintings for the day missed. Well, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I attended the Blue Heron Music Festival to help with the grandchildren and watch my daughter’s boyfriend perform with his band. Great fun! However, 9 paintings to make up. By doing 5 a day four days this week, and then 4 on Saturday (my week begins on Sunday), I can fill the days missed last weekend. Phew! And then there are regular summer chores to attend to. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, lawn, garden, rest if I want it. Without the latter, or at least the freedom to do nothing, why have any summer at all?
I need this beautiful summer weather to remind me how awful the winters are along the southeastern corridor of Lake Ontario. Three paintings a day for practice accumulating 20,000 in 20 years. Even more incentive now that @jompiy is doing the same. Here are a few from last week. I managed 19 before leaving for the festival. So, wait a sec... Actually, I need to make three paintings a day through Saturday, and I’ll be all caught up, since I’ve made five the last three days.

That old bird is so cute! Great to see you are on track.

Thanks. Must really cement the routine. After a thousand, I’ll know if it’s a go or not:)

The old bird follows "catch" for a moment I thought it would catch that ball.

It sounds to me you should paint if you feel to it. If 7 a day so be it. This way you can easilier take off or do the house Horus. Hoe about painting outside to enjoy summer? Soon enough it will be winter again. Perhaps some smaller ones help as well to save time.
You could count and note how many paintings you made at the end of the week instead of per day. And if more that's a plus for those "rainy", absent or sick days.

Ha, ha, not with those wings:)
That’s pretty much what I’ll end up doing. But if I didn’t set some rules, I’d easily be distracted. Outdoor painting is a good idea. I have a Monet canopy (cheap camping tent) that will provide shade as long as the temperature and humidity are comfortable. The studio is in the basement and relatively cool, even in 30° wet heat (I just learned celsius to Fahrenheit conversion a couple weeks ago so I could talk weather with Emma and @jompiy on our Thursdays podcasts).
I want to keep the work uniform in size. You may be right, but I’d have to see signs of burning out before I made the change. Thank you!

With me always something comes in-between unless I go out to paint. I find it hard to schedule painting time.
Imdon't care high temps and if shade it isn't that hot at all.
I wish you a great painting time and super three days off.
It's my pleasure.
❤️🍀

Fantastic work. I can't think of a more explosive and inspirational painter.

Thanks very much. THAT’s the enthusiasm I need to keep the turbines turning:)
