LIGHT SET FOR CHILDREN

Light is a very important form of energy for the life of the human being; Since ancient times people have needed light in all areas of life, from lighting the dark nights to the use of sunlight as part of the nutrients needed for the development of plants in the planting of food.

Light not only plays a role of lighting spaces, nowadays it is also used as a means of entertainment and recreation.

There are activities and games for children where light is the main attraction. Where the colored lights catch the attention of the little ones, leaving it an educational value.

From the pedagogical point of view, the treatment of light is based on a basic idea: the means the child has to get in touch with the world around him are the senses.

There is, however, a meaning that, without light, can not be stimulated: sight. The desire to see accompanies the desire to touch and to do. Wanting to reject light would mean closing your eyes.

The environment where the child lives is full of sources of light, both natural and artificial light.

If, from a young age, you are immersed in an environment rich in stimuli, you will have many possibilities to establish interactions with the world around you, to develop your abilities.

Thus, to give a pedagogical treatment of light, means to give children a magnifying glass of great magnification to look, find, and become aware of the small detail of things, means to allow them to impregnate their retina with the playful possibilities offered light: its reflections, decompositions, projections, transparencies ...

The thousand games with the light-shadow combination, etc. means offering children, like impressionist painters, the possibility of capturing the light of the instant, variable, unrepeatable fleeting; means to facilitate the discovery and seduction of a world that is also real, rich in natural phenomena and facts that gives us the heritage of our culture, and magic, full of creativity and evolution.

How can we work on the theme of light from school?

To give the child a flashlight is to open a new field of exploratory possibilities. From discovering the great secret that the little child is to open and close it, to observe, its projection of light in space, to invent symbolic games.

It is very curious to give a flashlight to a child of two three years, once he has discovered how it opens and how it closes opens the mouth of his classmates, reminds them of a situation lived.

What emits light in our classroom?

These activities children DISCOVER the functioning of different lights. Knowing new words, such as hanging lamp, floor lamp, wire and light bulb. They do tests and observe the results of their own activities ("I turn on the light: the light shines, I turn off the light: the light does not shine").
