Faith: Finding rest in God | Psalm 55:16-19

As for me, I will call upon God, And the LORD shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice. He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, For there were many against me. God will hear, and afflict them, Even He who abides from of old. Selah Because they do not change, Therefore they do not fear God.

As for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me:

What a declaration of calm and confidence in God--as David learned to leave into the hands of God whatever crisis that he's facing in life.

Evening and morning and at noon I will pray:

Truly, David’s confidence in God was founded in genuine trust upon God, his longing for a continuous intimacy with God through prayer, developed a lasting confidence in declaring that God will constantly hear his voice.

He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me:

Even in the midst of so many battles that he is facing but at the end of all those struggle to win and overcome the battle, David felt that his soul had been rescued (bought out, redeemed) from turmoil and crisis and into peace. The battle continued (there were still many against him), but his soul was in peace.

Application:

What an encouragement to soul of this verses from the Psalm 55. Like David, I want to be fully dependent upon God's protection and the assurance that every time I come upon him in my knees in prayer--God shall hear my voice and will lend the peace in my soul that will sustain the countenance of heart. "BUT FOR ME, I WILL CALL UPON GOD, AND THE LORD SHALL SAVE ME." So my faith will find rest in God!
