Steemchurch: The patience and fidelity of Job as an example to our life

in #steemchurch8 years ago

One of the truths that we find in the Word of God is that of our fragility before suffering and trials, we are very exposed in everyday life to situations that sometimes break the natural course of our lives and make us lose our calm. Peter in his first letter tells us:
"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fire of judgment that has come upon you, as if something strange were happening to you"
(1 Peter 4.12).

The Christian is tested, and often suffers, and today we will see an example of suffering and trial, but at the same time of integrity, patience and fidelity to God.
CAN God's servants remain faithful under hard trials, even if it does not seem to be of any use to them? A man named Job had to face this question. Let's see what the result was.

Job.

Perfect and straight male, God fearing, away from evil. Married, with seven children, three, daughters, seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yokes of oxen and five hundred donkeys: a Bullrich of Biblical times.
(Job 1: 1)

Job was a relative of Abraham who resided in what is now Arabia during the period when the Israelites lived in Egypt. One day, he became the focus of an assembly that Jehovah had summoned in heaven with the angels.

There was also Satan. In front of everyone, Jehovah praised Job for his unparalleled faithfulness, showing that he relied entirely on him. But Satan accused him of serving God out of interest, because he gave him many things and protected him. He said that if he lost everything, he would turn against Jehovah.

God let the Devil take Job away from his possessions, then his children and finally his health. Since Job did not know that Satan was behind all those misfortunes, he could not understand why God allowed them. Even so, he never turned his back on Jehovah. Then three supposed friends came to visit Job and began to lecture him. With their speeches, which occupy much of the biblical book of Job, they tried to convince him that God was punishing him for hidden sins. Nothing is further from reality! They even went so far as to affirm that God does not care about his servants and that he does not even trust them. But Job refused to accept his nonsense and assured them that he would be faithful to God until the very death.

However, Job made the mistake of worrying too much to defend himself. Elihu, a young man who had been listening to everything, censured him for giving more importance to his own reputation than to the name and authority of Jehovah. In addition, he severely reproached Job's false friends.

Finally, Jehovah himself corrected Job. Using the wonders of creation, he taught that man is insignificant when compared to the greatness of God. Job was humble and accepted discipline. And Jehovah, who is "very tender in affection, and merciful", restored his health and blessed him with twice as much wealth and with ten more children (James 5:11). The fidelity of Job served to give a strong response to Satan and demonstrate that human beings can be faithful to God under hard trials.

Job is an example for our lives of patience and fidelity to God. He remained faithful, unscathed in his convictions despite everything that happened to him in his life - what a great lesson my brothers have learned. Job understood that the more we suffer and are tested the more we need God and his strength, and he was blessed and the Lord brought back happiness

Santiago 5.11

Tells us:
"Behold, we consider blessed those who suffer. You have heard of Job's patience, and you have seen the Lord's end, that the Lord is very merciful and compassionate. "

Now we have a challenge, we all understand that sooner or later we will be tested, but WITH WHAT ATTITUDE WILL WE CONFRONT THE TRIAL? I hope we do it like Job and find in this word the help to face our problems and tests, and as he says
Santiago 4.7

"Submit yourselves, then, to God; Resist the devil and he will flee from you. "
Job understood this and was the winner, and we WHAT WILL WE DO WITH OUR TESTS FROM NOW ON? THAT IS THE CHALLENGE!
