POEM: HERE AND THERE
Within
The end of hellos
and the tail of goodbyes
lives a soul
Too large to contain
Too small to explain
yet is still present and
known
In the ember of ice
melting warmth in an
instant
Where the traumas that stay
within our body, leave us
inconsistent
As though we were alone while being
surrounded by homes in this winter
solstice
The day may be short
The night may be cold
But still we are
together
Giving flight to dead feelings
through starry nights
banded ceilings with warming
feathers
Food flocks together
forgetting its tether
Letting love from hands drift
further
