The Church as part of the body of Christ
Body of Christ (The Church)
"BECAUSE IN A BODY WE HAVE MANY MEMBERS, BUT NOT ALL THE MEMBERS HAVE THE SAME FUNCTION,
SO WE, BEING MANY, ARE ONE BODY IN CHRIST, AND ALL MEMBERS ONE OF ANOTHER"
Romans 12:4-5
The Holy Scriptures clearly teach us that our Lord Jesus Christ is the head of the church, that is, he is the one who coordinates, the one who gives the orders, and his body that is the church obeys and walks according to the eternal purposes that He as Savior establishes and that they are embodied in the Bible and in its gospels; Purposes that if fulfilled in our lives, bring with it growth and peace, an object for which we have also been called.
"Because the husband is the head of the wife, just as Cristi is the head of the church, which is his body, and he is her Savior".
Ephesians 5:23
The body has no power over itself, it cannot function without the head, in the same way, the Church cannot act without Christ, who is the head of the church, and it is necessary to understand how this feeling of spirituality and communion works. with God and his sacred holy spirit and thus be able to do things according to the will of our savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
The church as the body of Christ means that we are one in Him, and we must walk according to his precepts and united in one feeling. The idea that the body cannot walk without the head nor can it live individualized in its parts is literally applied in the church, the congregation cannot walk without its leader and guide who is Christ Jesus. In other words, the hands cannot walk without the fingers, nor the body without the face, nor a foot without the leg.
In the Lord, the Church must be in unity, because being one body, everything that happens to one member affects another. And it is where the common feeling and empathy for our brothers in Christ must be strengthened and prevail.
Corinthians 12:25-26:
"SO THAT THERE IS NO DISAVENANCE IN THE BODY, BUT THAT THE MEMBERS ALL CARE FOR ONE OTHER.
SO IF ONE MEMBER SUFFERS, ALL THE MEMBERS GRIEVE WITH HIM, AND IF ONE MEMBER IS HONORED, ALL THE MEMBERS JOY WITH HIM".
As a single feeling and a single thought of the unity of the church, the joy of one is the joy of all, so it should be the sadness of one will be sadness for all, always walking hand in hand with the Master who is our guide and great spiritual feeling.
Although we all have different functions within the body of Christ, we are all complements of each other, walking in love and unity is the mandate that our Lord has left for us, and his great sacrifice on the cross of Calvary is the most real example. And of course, just as Christ loves us, let us love all our brothers and sisters and make life the most beautiful gift that has been given by God the Father to all of us and that the salvation given through Jesus Christ be well deserved.
