Saint martin island

Geographical Location of Saint Martin

Saint Martin’s Island is located in the southernmost part of Bangladesh under Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district. The island is close to the Myanmar border and surrounded by the Bay of Bengal. It is the only coral island in Bangladesh.

Tour Plan and Group Details

We went on this tour as a group of six people. Our tour duration was four days and three nights. We started our journey from Saidpur.

Journey from Saidpur to Saint Martin

We traveled from Saidpur to Dhaka by Nilshagor Express night train and reached Dhaka in the morning. We stayed at my cousin’s mess in Dhaka and took rest for the whole day. At night, we went to Chattogram by train.

After reaching Chattogram, we stayed at a friend’s mess, rested during the day, and walked around Chattogram city for a short time. At night, we traveled by bus to Teknaf. We reached Teknaf in the morning and boarded a launch at 10 AM. After three hours of travel, we reached Saint Martin’s Island.

Naaf River Journey and my first impression

While traveling to Saint Martin, I took some photos on the Naf River and shared them. When we reached Saint Martin Jetty, the beauty of the island impressed us immediately. The weather was very nice.

Hotel and Accommodation

We booked our hotel in advance. We booked two rooms for six people, with three persons in each room. We reached the island around 1 PM and found our hotel. The hotel was close to the beach, and the beach view from the hotel was very beautiful.

Day 1 Experience

After changing clothes, we went to the beach and bathed in the sea. It was a very enjoyable experience. The water was salty, and some water went into our nose and mouth. We took photos while bathing.

I could see many trees in the island

After that, we returned to the hotel, changed clothes, and had lunch with local seafood and bhorta. In the afternoon, we went to the beachside market. There were many small shops. We drank coconut water there.

From evening until 12 at night, we sat beside the beach. The sound of the waves and the quiet environment were very peaceful. Then we returned to our room and slept.

Day 2 Experience

We woke up early and went to the beach. We enjoyed the morning beauty and walked in shallow water. After breakfast, we rested because the weather was very hot.

In the afternoon, we went out to explore different places. We visited a preserved house of Humayun Ahmed, though I do not remember the exact name. We went to the local market and ate Myanmar chocolates and pickles. These items are available because the Myanmar border is nearby. We also bought some clothes. Later, we bathed in the sea again.

Day 3 Experience

We woke up early and went to the beach like the previous days. We walked, enjoyed the view, and did photography. In the afternoon, we rented bicycles and rode them along the beach. The bicycle rent was 100 taka per hour. Later, we went to Chera Dwip by speedboat.

Chera Dwip Experience

The water of Chera Dwip is clearer than Saint Martin. Coral stones can be seen in the shallow water. The place is very calm and beautiful. We watched the sunset there. It looked like the sun was slowly going down into the sea. The view was very beautiful. After sunset, we returned to Saint Martin by speedboat and spent time on the beach at night.

Day 4 and Return Journey

We woke up early and went to the beach. We took our last sea bath in the morning because it was our return day. Our launch was at 3 PM. After getting ready and eating, we reached the jetty at 2 PM.
