Playing with the camera: Easter eggs

in #ruthphotostories5 years ago (edited)

In the Orthodox Christian tradition red eggs symbolize the sacrifice and resurrection. The egg, source of life, stands for Christ who spent three days in the tomb before he rose. The red color is for the blood the Son of God shed to deliver men from sin and evil.

Ruthie didn't miss the chance to play around with her camera and eggs.

Wheat is also a symbol of life, it feeds and nourishes. I love watching the green fields all around my house. They also make great decoration...

The cracking of the eggs (the tsougrisma) stands for defeat against death. On Easter Sunday, we crack the eggs by tipping one against the other and the one whose egg breaks is the loser of the game.
