Movies Review - watching Godzilla 1998 version which compared with Godzilla 2014 version.

Godzilla is the latest film that explores one of the icons in the world of science fiction film, Godzilla itself. Last Review Movies watching Godzilla 1998 version, which when compared with Godzilla version 2014, lost far in quality.

The film features the figure of Godzilla, the monster's monster as anti-hero, which means he has a worthy enemy in this film, and he tends to be in a human camp. And it is highly perceived that the portrayal of Godzilla in the 2014 version is more faithful with its genuine Japanese version of Gojira. This is a plus, because Godzilla is not just a giant dinosaur, but it is the embodiment of the ill effects of nuclear radiation.

As a human figure, there is Bryan Cranston who plays the scientist Joe Brody. Joe's family became the central figure in this film. Joe is the one who suspects the existence of a conspiracy to cover up "something" which is actually a kaiju which will become the opposite of Godzilla. The story then moves to the son of Joe, Ford Brody played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Ford turned to be a central figure in this film.

As a kaiju-style spectacle, the 2014 version is quite entertaining. The figure of Godzilla displayed quite impressively. The battle scenes between the giants are presented with captivating and epic. But from the side of the drama that is tried to show, feels lack of synergy with the godzilla itself. The plot of the human story with the monster's plot seems to run on its own, so there is no dramatic nuance. The relationship between Joe Brody and the son of Ford Brody is also poorly developed. Even Bryan Cranston does not have enough screen time in this movie. Ford's own family that could actually be further developed, it just seemed to be a patch for the emergence of the monster alone.

But overall, the film is much better than the 1998 version. Loyalty to the original version, the epic and gigantic visual effects, the monster king's might, all presented nicely. Only unfortunately there is still no attachment between the noisy scene with the inter-human drama that exists. 6/10
