Today i am going to participate in the Home Work Task of Season 5 Week 8 Which is "Avalanche Blockchain" given by the Professor @pelon53 .

I am very excited to attempt this homework task and, I would like to say thanks to Professor @pelon53 on his remarkable efforts in Crypto Academy.

The Avalanche blockchain is an innovative blockchain project which is actually a tri-blockchain ecosystem. It aims at attacking eh blockchain trilemma with the three blockchains each handling the major issues of scalability, Decentralization and security. It is different from other blockchain in many ways but having three blockchains is the one major feature.

The three blockchains are: X-Chain, C-Chain and P- chain.

X-Chain

X-chain or Exchange-blockchain is so names as it is concerned with the creation as well as trading and exchanging of the native AVAX token. The creation of various tokens on the blockchain is possible via modifying the standard protocols. The fee charge during this procedure is paid in AVAX token. The users can create different ERC-20 tokens using this chain. it follows the Avalanche Consensus protocol.

C-Chain

C-Chain or Contract Chain is so named as it is concerned with the creation of decentralized projects the most important being the decentralized apps on the network. It is solely a playing arena for the web developers as it allows the creation of EVM compatible apps. Thus, the apps developed on the Ethereum blockchain are accessible to the AVX users. This is accomplished by the allowing for the creation of the smart contracts.

P-Chain

P-chain platform chain is so named as it is solely involved in the functioning of the different components of the platform majorly the validators or the subnets. The major functions of this chain are the new subnets, track and manage the active subnets and manage the network validators. The subnet is actually a group of validators that have the access to take part in the consensus protocol. It is based on the Snowman Consensus Protocol that is an extended version of the Avalanche Consensus Protocol.

In this part of the post we will discuss the different features of the Avax Network. The homepage of the Network offers the following features developers, Individual, wallet, Avalanche X, and community etc.

Developers
If you are a developer here you will find everything from building DApps, Running a Validator, Minting a token to Integrating an Exchange in the start building sub section.

In the subsection validators you see the validator stats.

Individuals

In this option as the name suggests has various options for the individuals and users on the network there are sex major divisions under this option including the Roadmap, Solutions, Ecosystem, Avalanche Wallet, Avalanche Explorer, and Avalanche Bridge.

Wallet

From here users can create their wallets on the network. On the main screen click on the create wallet and you will be redirected to the process for creation.

Avalanche explorer

The explorer allows you to look in to transaction details you can do it by clicking on open explorer.

Avalanche ecosystem

In this feature you see many sub features including the DeFi, Digital Securities, Ecosystem, Exchange, Explorer, Gaming, Identity, Infrastructure, NFT, Nodes, Oracle, Payments, Play to Earn, Security, Stablecoin, Tooling, Trading Bot, Wallet, Wealth Management as shown in the screenshot below.

Avalanche X

in this feature users can request grants from the Avalanche network. This process can be completed in three steps , submitting the application, someone form the network contacts the user, the process of getting a grant.

Avalanche Consensus Protocol

1. It is the main protocol deployed in the X-chain which is involved with trading exchanging and creation of the AVAX tokens and other crypto assets.
2. All the nodes in the consensus parlay and equally verify the transactions and there is no leader unlike in POS and POW.
3. The absence of the center or head it is more decentralized and open without effecting the scalability.
4. The technique used by the nodes to parallel verify the transaction is called the Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) optimized protocol
5. The transactions are not stored in the blocks but are stored in vertices.

Snowman Consensus Protocol

1. It is an extension of the Avalanche consensus protocol designed to order transactions.
2. It is used in C-chain in the creation of smart contracts and in the P-chain in the creation and management of the subnets.
3. The transactions are arranged linearly rather parallels.
4. The transactions are stored in blocks once they are validated.

The assignment gave an insight into the Consensus protocols and features of the AVAX network. AVAX has the potentially of solving the blockchain trilemma and on the whole increase the blockchain mass adoption. this assignment was really helpful in understanding the different aspects of the AVAX network.
