Secret gifts! | Happy New Year...! ❤️

Today is the day to celebrate the most celebrated festival in my country; Sinhala & Tamil New Year. So my lovely Sri Lankan Steemians, wish you all healthy, wealthy, peaceful, and very happy new year! May you all be filled only with happiness and love in this new year. ❤️

My new year vacation started on April 8th. I didn’t want to waste at least an hour of my new year vacation since I hadn’t come home for around one and a half months. So early in the morning on 8th April, I started my long journey to come home.

Early morning at Kottawa...

It was such an exciting day for me cuz I had a secret that wasn’t known by any of my family members. I had bought new year gifts for everyone in my family, and I didn’t tell anybody at least a word about the gifts. Because my mom and dad had advised me so early not to buy any gifts for any of them, what they told me was to buy new year clothes only for myself. And if I really wanted, they told me to buy something only for my little nephew.

But it was one of the main items on my wish list: buying new year clothes for my entire family after getting a job. I had gifted many things to everyone in my family, but I hadn’t gifted all of them at the same time. So this time was mine. I told my mom that I was going to buy some new year clothes for myself, and I went shopping to buy gifts for them, because, I really wanted to surprise them.

However, my plan went well. That day I could buy all the gifts except my mom’s one. She is from extra large size and I couldn’t find a suitable dress from her size. So I had to go shopping another day as well to buy a gift for my mom.

After coming home, I had planned to hide their gifts until the new year day. But, actually, I couldn’t. I was so thrilled by my secret, and I realized that I could not continue the lies that I had told my mom. So I gifted my mom’s and dad’s gifts on the same day that I came home.

My cute nephew has got the heaviest gift bags from me, I bought him three toys, some coloring books, coloring pastels and clay, and of course new year clothes.

But still, my brother, sister in law and my little nephew didn’t visit us for the new year. Now I’m looking for them to come home, and I’m looking for that happy moment of giving their gifts.
