Purpose of Deliberation

The main purpose of a deliberation is to make a decision on a problem that exists regardless of the scope of the deliberation. Thus, every problem will get a better solution because in the deliberation there are many thoughts and opinions that can be considered as solutions.

In certain deliberations, there are experts who provide opinions on issues from various points of view. These various opinions must be mixed properly so that differences of opinion do not become a source of division.

The second purpose of having deliberation is to get a mutual agreement on something. This collective agreement is commonly known as consensus. Deliberation is said to be successful when consensus has been reached. However, there are times when consensus cannot be reached.

When there is no consensus, another method is used to generate decisions, namely by means of lobbying forums. In this lobby forum, participants with different opinions discuss the decisions to be taken so that consensus can be reached. If consensus cannot be obtained, then the next mechanism is implemented, namely the voting mechanism.

Voting is a decision-making mechanism by voting for every decision. The decision to be taken is the decision with the highest number of votes. The consequence of using this mechanism is that each component of the deliberation must accept and implement the results of the deliberation.

The third purpose of having deliberation in the life of the nation and state is deliberation to fulfill the requirements of legal norms. As we know there are many kinds of deliberation in everyday life. So, several types of deliberations such as plenary sessions, general sessions, special sessions, etc. are required to exist to meet the requirements of the statutory regulations.

Those are some of the goals of deliberation in the life of the nation and state. How?
