SLC S21 Week 6 - Beauty and Self-Care with Herbs
For promoting hair health I am using the following Herbs for making tonic but first I would like to explain benefits of each herb which are below;
Meethi Dana (Fenugreek seeds) |

• Fenugreek seeds have some of the essential hormones which are important for stimulating hair growth and strengthen them.
• Due to antifungal and antibacterial properties of fenugreek seeds these are helpful for treating dandruff, itching and other scalp problems so when scalp will be healthy then hair growth will be good
• There are some of the antioxidants present in fenugreek seeds that are important for reducing hair fall and for treating baldness also.
• Fenugreek seeds are also rich with anti inflammatory properties that are helpful to keeping and maintenanning soothness of scalp.
Alsi(Flax seeds) |

• Flax seeds contain most important component which is omega 3 fatty acids that are most important for nourishing hair and for making scalp healthy and follicles healthy that promotes hair growth.
• These are important for strengthening hair strands and reduction of split ends of hair because it contains some of the healthy proteins that are necessary and important for hairs.
• Flax seeds are important for reduction of dandruff and itchy skin due to its anti inflammatory properties.
• Omega 3 fatty acids that are most important component of flax seeds are important for hydrating scalp that reduce dryness issues of scalp and reduce flakiness.
Kalonji (Black cumin) |

• Black cumin are important for increasing circulation in scalp that strengthen follicles growth and promotes healthy hair.
• There are antioxidants also present which helps for strengthening of roots of hair.
• Black cumin are important for improving overall hair texture by making reduction in frizz and by adding shine.
• Melanin production is also enhanced by black cumin seeds that helps for reducing growing of hair and help to maintain good hair colour.
Now let's have a look at process of preparing hair tonic along some of the ingredients and their quantities;

Flax seed | 1 table spoon |
Black cumin | 1 tea spoon |
I take water of 1.5 or 2 cups in a pot and when it started to boil then I add fenugreek seeds in it so you can add it in form of seeds or in powdered form according to your choice.
I add flax seeds powder in it and then I added last ingredient which was black cumin and then I cook them at medium flame for minimum 5 minutes.
You can see them while cooking that how much all these ingredients have sticky texture when they are mixing up with each other.
Now I want to tell that in which form you can use this remedy.
You can use it in form of hair tonic or hair mask as well as you can also use it as a tonic by spring in your hair as I have shown you by adding it in spray bottle.
You can apply this hair mask twice a week for best results and you can spray it in your hairs and especially at your scalp before sleeping each night and you will see visible results that your hair follicles are getting stronger, baldness is getting low and here are becoming more shiner and frizz is controlling.
Rose |

• Rose petals are rich of antioxidants and vitamins which are helpful for reducing fine lines and wrinkles so it can be used as anti aging.
• Water and oil present in rose are important for locking moisture which leaves skin to feel soft and hydrated.
• Rose containing water is helpful for balancing pH of skin due to which skin pores shrink and skin looks more shiner and smoother.
• Rose petals are also good for relieving eczema and psoriasis which are skin conditions as well as these are also helpful for giving soothne if there is burn to skin.
Sandalwood |

• Sandalwood contains antibacterial properties that are helpful for reducing pimples and acne at skin.
• Sandal wood is important for reducing hyperpigmentation and blemishes at skin and in this way skin tone even by using it.
• Sandalwood have a lot of moisturizing properties so it reduces dryness from skin by its natural moisture.
• Sandal wood also contain anti inflammation properties which are helpful for reducing skin irritation skin burn or redness.
Tumeric |

• Tumeric most important component us curcumin which is helpful in reducing scars,spots and blemishes at skin.
• Tumeric is helpful in reducing dark spots and pigmentation at skin and helps in giving an original tone to skin.
• Tumeric is important for reducing inflammation or redness at skin.
Now I am going to share process of preparing face mask by using the ingredients and their quantities that I am sharing in below table;

Rose | 2-3 flowers |
Sandalwood | 1.5-2 teaspoon |
Tumeric | Half tea spoon |
First of all you need to take 2 to 3 flowers petals and add it to a pot or bowl.
After that you need to take 1.5 to 2 teaspoon of sandalwood in rose petals.
Now you will add half teaspoon of turmeric powder or some more little quantity of tumeric powder and take all ingredients and blend them well and with help of blender.
For making it a paste aur in creamy form you need to add some rose water or milk according to your own choice so I am adding 6 to 7 spoons of milk in it.
I mix all ingredients with milk well and then I applied the paste at my face for 15 minutes you can also seen in picture.
Neem |

• Neem have natural properties of calming mind and body which reduce anxiety level.
• Aroma of Neem is very strong which is helpful for calming nervous system.
• Neem is very important for improving sleep so it gives peace of mind and helps in relaxing.
• Neem have properties of reducing inflammation so it helps to reduce skin problems or any inflammatory condition.
Dar cheeni (Cinnamon) |

• Dar cheeni or cinnamon have anti inflammatory properties that are helpful in reducing muscular pain or cramps so overall it relax muscular skeletal system.
• Cinnamon have warmth and anti inflammatory properties and properties of improving circulation which promotes relaxation of body.
• Aroma of cinnamon is soothing which helps in reducing stress level.
• Cinnamon is helpful in improving sleeping time when you add it in bath water or in your diet in form of herbal tea.
Cumin |

• Cumin is helpful in reducing mental fatigue which seems to be helpful in promoting focus and concentration so it gives mental relaxment.
• Cumin have natural properties of reducing anxiety level so it is helpful for relaxment.
• Cumin have properties for improving quality of sleep which promotes a restful sleep.
Now let's have a look at ingredients and their quantities that I am going to add for making this herbal remedy for making a bath soaked with herbs;

Neem | 8-10 leaves |
I take five cups of water and boil them and after boiling I added spoon of cinnamon powder in it.
After that I added cumin which is zeera in water and then I added 8 to 10 leaves of Neem in water and let all ingredients boiled with water for 7-8 minutes at medium flame.
After that you can stain it and can mix it with one tub of bathing water and for having more best effects you should add it in slightly warm water because giving warmth to body also helps you in relaxing.
