Vermicelli Pudding Easy Recipe
A simple but delicious sweet milk pudding, made with vermicelli and some dry nuts,cooked until a soft custard consistency.
A popular dessert in Pakistan and India, and often eaten in the morning on the Muslim festival of Eid.
It’s really yummy and delicious.It’s just melting in your mouth (mouth watering ) really.You can have this dessert either warm or chilled,but I like the chilled one.
Let’s get started ;
INGREDIENTS;
3 cups Milk
1 cup vermicelli (swaiyan)
1 -1 1⁄2cup Sugar (regular white sugar)
1⁄2 tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp pistachios
1 tbsp almonds
METHOD;
Wash a saucepan with water and shake out the excess.
Place pan over medium flame and heat the milk, stir often until it is near boiling (should take 10 minutes).
You can break the vermicelli into small pieces.
Add vermicelli into the hot milk.(vermicelli are easily available in the market).
The vermicelli will soften after 2-3 minutes.
Continue to cook vermicelli over med-low a further 5 minutes.
Add ½ cup of sugar and stir well to dissolve, you can taste the sweetness now if you want to make it more sweet you can add more sugar.(as per your taste)
Add cardamom powder,Almonds and Pistachios.
Let the vermicelli thicken over med-low heat for another 10-15 minutes.
Stir occasionally to prevent the sticking with the pan.
Consistency of milk with vermicelli should be medium not very hard not flowing.
Serve warm / cold garnished with pistachio nuts and almonds.
