THE EMPLOYMENT MYTHOLOGY ON EVERY CAMEROONIAN YOUTH

Steemit greetings to everyone in this community. I hope everyone is doing great! In my today's write up, I will be dishing out the employment mythology faced by average Cameroonian youths and the way forward out of the situation.

A greater percentage of the Cameroonian youths grow up with the old formula for success which is: Go to school, study hard, and get good grades so you can get a secure, high-paying job with benefits-and your job will take care of you. It's rather unfortunate that most of these youths end up being disappointed when it comes to securing a job after studies. Recent research has proven that this method worked out perfectly fine for people in the yesteryears, but today, it seems to be failing us.

One thing I have figured out as one of the reasons why this method is currently failing us is because of change of age (from the industrial age to the entrepreneurial age) . Meaning, the things that worked out for people in the industrial age subsequently mustn't work out for us in the entrepreneurial age because more workforce were needed by the government and big companies in the industrial age in order to meet up with the demands as per that time.

In this our age, things have suddenly changed to the entrepreneurial domain and we, the students also have to change our mindset and ways to suit the demands of our age so as to avoid the “after education” disappointment. And this can only be achieved by adopting the entrepreneurial mindset (most students minds should be both business and job oriented, not only job-oriented) as no government or company promised you any job after your education.

To the parents, we should encourage our children not to be dependent on the government or big companies for employment after graduation, but we should encourage them to learn how to start something for themselves. Let us not judge their success after education by the type of jobs they secure after education. Encourage them to try out new things after their education.

This write up was inspired by the book “Business of the 21st century” by Robert T. Kiyosaki.

I wish many more people could read this and understand the deep reason why there are so many unemployed youth in our country.

I grew up with the new mindset. I had to fight my way to self employment. My parents also had the "government concours" mentality. Untill I changed it.
All it takes is a strong mindset and willingness to workm
